The Grim Reaper Effect (n.) The act of being informed of your death date by the grim reaper him/herself.
Ex:
"I regret to inform you that you have exactly one year to live."
I raised an eyebrow, "Excuse me?"
He shrugged, "I've been informed that you have one year to live. Now we can go on all afternoon about it, but I'd rather you make your last year count."
"I think you have the wrong person," I started. "You see, I'm only seventeen. My life's just beginning and besides that, I'm as healthy as I can be. There's no way I'm dying in a year."
He sighed, "I wanted to skip the pleasantries but seeing as that's the only way you'll understand what I'm saying, I can't." He stuck out his hand. "Hello Mackenzie Oliver, I'm Griffin Ryder or, as I'm more commonly known, The Grim Reaper."
