Camille’s POV

I’m surrounded by darkness. I’m floating. I’m dreaming. I’m spinning.

I’m numb.

I hear voices.

I’m falling down. Falling. Faster.

Pain. Head. Fear. Confusion. Blackness. Void.

“We got her.”

“Yeah, she’s here at the place you said.”

“Ok will do boss.” Click.

“Make sure she doesn’t escape or is hurt in any way, boss will have our heads.”

“What if she wakes up?”

“Just guard the door.”

Footsteps. At least that’s what I think they are. The voices fade out along with them. I’m alone.

I need to open my eyes. I need to sit up and see where I am. Shit. My head. Not gonna move it for a while. Damn I must have hit my head on the sink or something. Wait a second. I don’t recognize those voices. Austin’s bathroom doesn’t smell like a urinal filled with garbage. It smells like peonies and jasmine. Where the hell am I?

I finally manage to open my eyes, and barley keep a scream from slipping pass my chapped lips. One word comes to mind. Warehouse. Clearly I’m not at Austin’s anymore, and I might not even be anywhere near his territory. I have no idea how long I’ve been out, where I am, or who took me.

Time to do inventory. My head hurts. The back like someone hit me, but I also have a headache and smell something sweet. I wipe at my mouth trying to get the grime off and lick my chapped lips. Something tastes off; maybe whatever they put on my mouth is what gave me the headache. My ankles are tied together and my right wrist is handcuffed to a chain on the wall.

I feel dirty and thrown around and exhausted.

I lay back against the cool concrete wall. If anything just conserving my energy for when whoever took me comes back for me.

Maybe if I just close my eyes. Just for a minute. It’ll help my headache. I’ll just rest real quick.

“She’s in here boss.”

My eyes snap open. I don’t know how long I was asleep but I snap to attention at the voice from before and multiple footsteps heading my way. I brace myself against the unknown, fearing what’s behind the door.

“Hello Camille, love.” No please! Not him. My shocked and most likely fearful face places an amused smile on his face. “Did you miss me?” I press back involuntarily further against the wall I’m tethered to. I have nowhere to go this time, and Austins not here to save me. “Oh don’t be frightened, darling, this is our happy little reunion. You should be thrilled. Aren’t you happy I found you?”
