Tonight
whilst sitting between my covers
I'm not asking God for you to like me,
I'm not asking Him to let there be a moment
where you tell me how you feel either
and I'm also not asking for the love you say, you never had
Hunched over
with an aching headache
I'm not asking God for a remedy to help me move on,
I'm not asking Him to let it be easy for me to find
someone who really loves me either,
and I'm also not asking for the memories we shared to disappear
Cold to the bone
whilst my emotions run wild
I'm asking God to make your life a little better,
I'm asking Him to not just help me move on from you but get over you too
I'm also asking for the journey to be a little lighter,
not so heavy that we end up
giving in and having our hearts broken again.
I'm asking God to help you find what your heart needs
and I'm asking Him to help me live without you too
