We started walking and chatting at the same time. At one point, it got really dark in the tunnel. "Ah shit! I dropped my glasses!", Stef exclaimed. Mouth, who was beside me, picked them up off the ground from where he used to be standing.

I noticed that they had been shattered, probably because my cousin had stepped on them. Mouth handed the glasses to Stef. "Crap! They're broken. Mouth, you broke my glasses! Now I can't see! Thanks a lot!", She rambled.

I then stumbled on someone's shoelace other than my own. I tumbled backward, bracing for the impact against the hard, cold, stone floor. But the pain didn't come; someone had caught me.

I looked up to see Mikey, standing there surprised, holding me in his arms. I took a deep breath and stood up straight. "T-thank you, Mikey," I stuttered, butterflies in my stomach. I don't know if it was just my imagination, but I swear I saw him leaning in.

I was interrupted from my stupid teenage mind by Brandon. "Come on, lovebirds! We've gotta keep moving." Mikey and I jumped back from each other quickly and avoided each others gazes.

We continued walking in the dark. At some point, Mikey had walked up to Data to ask him something. "Okay. From now on, I'm in charge. Okay?", Brandon stated. We all nodded our heads.

"Hey, Data. You gotta a light or something?", Mikey asked. "Yeah... Yeah! Guys! I've got just the thing!", Data exclaimed happily. He unzipped his jacket to reveal two lights. He turned them on and we all cheered.

Data then started shining the blinding lights in our faces as he walked backwards. "Ahh. Data? Can you dim those lights or something?", I asked, shielding my eyes. Data nodded his head but sighed right after. The lights had turned off, and it was now pitch black in this abandoned tunnel again.

"Oh, guys!" Data sighed, "The only thing is, these batteries don't last so long..." I huffed. I did not do well in dark, enclosed spaces. My cousin knew this and he came over and gave me a side hug. "S'okay, Lex. We're gonna make it out of here. I'm sure of it, even if we don't find the treasure."

I half smiled and continued walking. "Hey guys! It looks like there's a light up there. Let's go see if it's a way out!", Mikey said. I nodded my head and walked faster, eager to find treasure or get out of here.

I stumbled over something else and bent down to see what it was. I squinted my eyes and saw the faint outline of a lantern and a box of matches. "Guys, I found a lantern." Brand took the box from me and lit one of the matches. He carefully lit the lantern. The others cheered.

We happily strolled along, now that we had something to light the way.
