When Nico designed his cabin, he made the outside look really dark and scary, but the inside was beautiful. It had white furniture and gold decals. Nothing inside was black, only grey. And at night, the cabin will never be completely dark, always at least some light.
Malcolm was sitting in his cabin when he suddenly ran out screaming bloody murder. Percy, in the middle of a sword fight, ran to the cabin. He knew that scream. He cautiously stepped inside. While he was in there, Annabeth came over. Percy stepped out, and just said, "it's gone." Malcolm looked at Annabeth and just said "keep him."
(If you don't understand, Malcolm saw a spider. Percy knew was the I'm-a-child-of-Athena-who-just-saw-a-spider scream. Percy gets rid of spider.)
