"Oh no. No. No. No. This can't be happening." You sit in the bathroom floor, holding a pregnancy test. "How did I let this happen? He's going to freak!" You hear the sliding door to you and Luke Skywalker's shared quarters open. Before he can find out, you throw the test in the disposal, abruptly stand up, and try to walk normally over to your boyfriend despite your stomach pain and need to throw up. When you come out of the bathroom in your pilot's jumpsuit, he greets you with a peck on the lips and then on your forehead, "Good morning, love. What does your schedule look like today? I was thinking that we could do something special for our three year anniversary. What do you say?" You can tell he's excited, so you try to smile, but your stomach clenches and you collapse into his arms. "____, are you alright?" He slowly lets you down to the floor and places a hand on your forehead. "Love, you are burning with a fever. Stay here, I'll get a nurse."
You panic. If he calls a nurse, he'll find out. I can't let that happen. "Luke, no. Please don't." He turns to look at you. "It's just a cold. I'll tell Leia I'm sick and that I'll be back tomorrow. I just need to sleep it off." You fake a smile.
He walks over to you and reaches for your hand, "Are you sure you don't want me to get a nurse?" You nod.
"I'm sure."
"Alright. I'm heading out. I'll see you tonight. I love you, ____." He calls out as he walks out the door.
When the door closes, you whisper, "I love you, Luke." You stand up from where he carried you to the bed and walk over to the closet. Immediately, thoughts begin to swirl in your mind. Would he still love you if he knew you were pregnant? You'd be a liability. You'd just slow him down, get in his way, and be a distraction. Besides, weren't you guys supposed to wait for children? What about all of those talks about a family, but after the war? If he finds out, he'll never forgive you.
The thought of him rejecting you because of what you perceive to be your mistake is too much for you to bear. You come to the conclusion that the only way to make things right is to leave now, before he finds out.
You start by packing a few, personal items, such as a picture of you, Han, Leia, and Luke after the battle of Yavin IV, into a small bag that is small enough to conceal underneath one of Luke's Jedi robes. You feel bad about taking one, but he has more than a few. Then, you lay out your jumpsuit and flight helmet on the bed and change into civilian clothes. You place the commlink he gave you, a direct line that only connects to him, beside the helmet. He may try to track me with it. I can't let him do that. He needs to let me go, for good. Finally, you wait. You know he will be off soon, but you wait until dark to sneak out to your ship.
Once night falls, you sneak out. You stick to the dark corridors of the ship, and keep your head down, imitating how Luke walks when he wears his robes. You make it to the hangar before anyone asks any questions.
"Luke? Why are you sneaking around in a robe? You look ridiculous." Han. You panic at the voice of your brother and just shake your head. Han thinks he understands. "Oh, you're going to meet ____. Aren't you?" You nod, trying to get Han to leave you alone. "Alright, I get it. Just remember, play it cool and don't be so nervous, just like we planned, okay?" Once again, you just nod. Planned? What was Luke planning with Han? If he went to your brother about it, he must know. I've got to get out of here, fast.
You wave at Han as if to say a final goodbye and walk to the direction of your ship. That's when you notice that Luke has landed his ship right next to yours. The irony. You make it to your ship and inside the cockpit before it all falls apart. The second your engines fire up, Luke bursts into the hangar, looking frantic. He runs over to Han, who bolts upright at the sound of his name being called. "Back so soon? What, did you forget something?"
Luke is borderline panicking, "I can't find ____, she stayed in sick today, but when I went back to the apartment, she was gone. She had laid out her jumpsuit and helmet, and she isn't responding to her commlink. I fear something terrible has happened." Afraid of being caught, you take off, quickly as possible. You speed out of the hangar and punch the hyperdrive, taking you to a nearby planet where you can disable the ship's tracking beacon before finding a new place to lay low.
Once you come in sight of Jakku, your eyes begin to water. What have I done? It's too late. I can never go back. You land on the sandy planet and start disabling the beacon. Once it shuts off, you let out a small sigh of relief. Now that Luke won't be able to find you, he'll be forced to move on. Like you will. You won't be able to locate the Rebels either. Before you take off, you fill your ship with fuel and plan out a safe destination. Naboo. It's peaceful, supportive of the Rebellion without drawing attention, and is absolutely gorgeous. It's perfect. You place a hand on your stomach and talk to the unborn child, "We'll be safe there. I promise."
That's when you see the Millennium Falcon. You suck in a breath, quickly pay for your fuel, jump into your cockpit, and fly, full throttle, to the edge of the atmosphere before you can be spotted by your brother. Once out of the atmosphere, you make the jump to Naboo. All you have is one last look of the Millennium Falcon, hot on your tail before it all disappears into streaks of blue. This is not time to cry. You tell yourself as tears threaten your eyes. Luke may not realize it yet, but you've freed him up to fight. He's no longer tied down by the weight of your relationship. He's free. And Han, he'll be fine as always. He doesn't need you around. Chewie, Leia, and Luke will give him company.
You enter the bright atmosphere of Naboo and land outside the city of Theed. You climb out of the cockpit and take a deep breath. You place a hand on your stomach and say more to yourself than the child, "It's going to be alright. I promise."

A/N This will be another long one. I've got three parts planned out. I hope you guys are staying safe. Love you all 💙!
May the Force be with you!!
