The next events are a blur to you. Somehow, at warp speed, you and Luke manage to wind up in Mos Eisely, escape a run in with a squad of stormtroopers, and find a pilot to take Ben and Luke to Alderaan.
You aren't quite sure about tagging along. It's not that you don't want to go and take the chance to get off this rock, the real issue is that this is the only life you've ever known. To the rest of the galaxy, you know you will be seen as a princess if your heritage is ever revealed, but here, you can be yourself without the fear of being found out.
Now, you stand in docking bay 94, watching as Ben and Luke board the Corellian freighter. Just another reminder of my true heritage.
Luke begins to walk up the ramp, but turns around to face you. Shaking his head, he walks back down and wraps you in an embrace. As he hugs you tightly, he says softly, "Please come with us. I can't bear the thought of leaving you here alone. ___, I...I think I—" You pull back.
"Luke, I will be fine. Besides, if Obi-Wan is telling the truth about my mother, I am at risk if I leave this planet. Go, have your adventure, I'll be here when you come back." You give him a kiss on the cheek and begin walking back into the city.
However, when you reach the entrance, you are met by Imperial forces. With no other way out, you look frantically to Luke, rushing up the ramp leaving you with the pilot of the freighter who has open fired on the troopers. The dark-haired pilot looks to you and shouts, "Looks like you don't have a choice now, princess. Get on board."
After sighing in defeat, you sprint up the ramp of the ship, into the main hold. When Luke sees you, he springs out of his seat and grins ear to ear, "You changed your mind!"
You shake your head and slightly chuckle, "Fate didn't exactly give me a choice."
Ben shrugs as if he knew you would end up tagging along this entire time. The pilot rushed past the main hold and into the cockpit. With a worried glance to the others, you follow him.
You enter the small cockpit, watching from the doorway as the ship leaves the only planet you've ever known. The pilot looks over his shoulder and says, "You might wanna take a seat, things are about to get bumpy." You do as he says, sitting in a seat near the back of the cockpit. He glances back once more, "Sorry about dragging you into all of this, I'm Han Solo by the way. This is my partner, Chewbacca." The Wookie lets out a friendly roar. It makes you smile.
Suddenly, Luke bursts into the cockpit, slightly irritated at the pilot for making you smile. He knows he shouldn't be jealous, but he can't help it. You're the only girl he's ever loved, and now it seems as if this cocky pilot wants to take you away from him.
You notice Luke's hardened face, and pat the extra room in your seat, signaling him to sit next to you. His face softens as he smiles at you, taking a seat right beside you. He intentionally brushes his hand against yours. The action makes you blush.
As the Millennium Falcon weaves in and out dodging blast after blast, Luke becomes anxious. "Why don't you outrun them? I thought you said this thing was fast."
Han turns back to face Luke, "Watch your mouth kid, or you'll find yourself floating home."We'll be safe enough when we make the jump to hyperspace. Besides, I know a few maneuvers. We'll lose 'em." Blasts from the star destroyers tailing you jostle the cockpit, causing Luke to lose balance and grip your leg to prevent himself from falling out of the seat. If you weren't red before, you sure were now, but you noticed his cheeks beginning to turn red as well.
Another blast hits, but at this point, it's starting to make you sick. You take this as an excuse to leave the cockpit and find a seat to strap into in the main hold. As you leave the cockpit, you can still hear Luke and Han bickering. The only way Luke would be satisfied was if he were piloting it himself. Soon enough, Han kicks them out of the cockpit while he makes the jump to Alderaan.
Luke sits beside you, still making sure that his shoulder is touching yours. Maybe he's nervous about flying. As crazy as that sounds, we've never made the jump to lightspeed before.
Ben notices something across the main hold and picks it up. It's a small sphere. You would have passed it off as junk, but Ben seems to have a fascination with it. He calls Luke over, and the farmboy reluctantly leaves your side.
Chewbacca enters the main hold, somewhat chuckling when he spots Artoo and Threepio playing his favorite game aboard the ship, Dejarik.
While the Wookie joins the game, you turn back to Luke and Ben. Luke now holds his lightsaber, the blue light of the blade contrasting with his surroundings. Ben flips a switch on the sphere, bringing it to life as it fires a shot at Luke. He swings to deflect the bolt, but by then, it's too late. It hits him square in the shoulder. You let out a small snicker.
The droid floats around Luke, firing of a couple shots. He manages to deflect one and swells up in pride, only to get a blast to his back. It's clear this droid is only using training blasts, meant to sting but not harm.
Han is the last time enter the main hold as he takes a seat next to you. You have a strange feeling about the dark-haired pilot next to you, but you push it out of your mind and go back to watching Luke fight a losing battle with the droid. Every time he gets hit, you have to stop yourself from giggling. Your whole life, Luke has been the quickest learner of the two of you. He always learned a skill faster than you and would playfully tease you about it. However, watching him somewhat fail was bringing you a little entertainment.
Han chuckles after the droid successfully gets another blast to Luke's back. "Hokey religions and ancient weapons are nothing like a good blaster at your side."
Luke stands up straight, sheathing the lightsaber, "You don't believe in the Force, do you?"
Han shakes his head, "I've been from one side of the galaxy to the other, seen a lot of strange things, but I've never seen anything to make me believe there's one all-powerful force controlling everything. There's not mystical energy field controls my destiny."
Ben gives you a look of amusement before handing Luke a pilot's helmet with the blast shield down. What's he up to now?
