BILLIE
"todays the day bil, it's your first show.", juniper rubbed her shoulders, she was tensed up and staring out the window of the tour bus. it was the day she's both feared and waited for.
"i'm feeling good, nervous as hell. how the fuck am i supposed to jump around with this?", she held up her new prosthetic. she had actually put her time into staying at the doctors to get it fit for extensive mobility.
she had multiples for different occasions. some were flashier than others, companies putting in work to create a leg just for her and others so she could move around easier.
"the doctor specifically told you not to kangaroo jump but you can do a little bit of running around and some of that eccentric shit you like to do.", juniper rubbed her arms, sitting down next to her.
juniper was around 7 months pregnant and she looked ready to pop. billie anxiety welled up inside of her and she couldn't begin to imagine how juniper felt. she was going to be pushing out a watermelon in no time, not to mention on a tour.
billie was concerned about her having the least bit of mobility anywhere. then she got worried about the bumps in the road and all the things that could go wrong, etc. safe to say, she was shitting her pants each time juniper said she was in pain.
she was cautious, more than ever before. overprotectiveness has clogged her. alejandro had wanted to be with her, saying he wanted to be with his sister at the big moment.
it was a whole spiel and it took weeks for both of the two dominant beings to get over one another's assertiveness. they were both cocky and confident in their own power, too prideful to give up the rights to being with juniper.
she nearly got into multitudes of fights with cameramen or persistent paparazzis, not afraid to knock somebody back into their place. she was harder to deal with than the pregnant woman was alone, sometimes juniper wonders if billie was secretly pregnant.
"wait so i can jump around with it?", billie looked up, fiddling with the bolts in her prosthetic. they had manufactured it so it wouldn't immediately fall to pieces or snap off upon impact.
it wasn't only a limb that was needed in everyday life, she also could threaten people with it.
"just not like a kangaroo, baby. it isn't a trampoline park. plus you have one less ankle to worry about breaking!", juniper smiled and rubbed her stomach, she was chewing on some vegan snacks, finding them oddly delicious.
her cravings had billie bewildered for the first few weeks until it became a norm for her to be running out in the middle of the night for pickles and mustard as a dipping.
her diet had converted to mainly sticking to vegan food since she had found them to be like heaven for her. occasionally she'd snack on junk food, saying she could never devote herself to the vegan lifestyle. billie respected that, she would never impose or force her dietary system onto someone.
"very funny. what about you? are you gonna be okay in the sun? do you want to watch from somewhere else? what about food, snacks? are you and the baby okay? how about we just cancel the entire show and i can stay here.", juniper laughed and pushed off her arms that were gripping onto her sides.
she had to fight off the insistent, bombarding questions that billie held inside of her. instead of asking them one by one she chose to overwhelm
her.this was the usual routine whenever billie had to leave juniper for even a split second. she would follow her around like a puppy and never let her out of her sight. she never strayed too far when they went out and even in interviews.
she begged for the hosts to allow juniper to be seated next to her so she could hold her hand.
"bub, can you calm down for just one second. i'm alright, this little bean is alright. you don't need to panic this much. maggie has got me covered.", billie pouted, wanting to be in her mother's position where she was catering to juniper.
they were clingy with each other and couldn't bare to leave the other alone.
"i am calm, i'm just worried about you.", juniper smiled, leaning forward from her seat to kiss billie. it soothed the rapid pumping of her heart, adrenaline coursing through her veins.
her legs wouldn't stop bouncing, they had chosen to stay alone in the bus instead of the green room. wanting a little bit of silence to themselves before the chaos broke out.
"you've got this. okay? i'll be watching from the side and cheering you on. if i feel like this little one wants to come out early i'll tell you.", they didn't want to find out the gender of the baby, wanting to keep it a secret until the birth.
"i wonder what it'll be like, if everyone's gonna be hype or not.", she laid awake the night they arrived in florida, the first show was not in california, instead halfway across the country.
which she was not happy about. she was still that rowdy teenager that wanted the schedule to go how she wanted, arguing with each person in the room when it didn't go her way.
"they have to be, their idol is having their first show back.", juniper smiled at her, caressing her cheek softly. her brown eyes held praise, awe and fondness.
if billie could she would fall endlessly in love with those enticing pools of honey that constantly swirled with emotion.
"man.. all the money i've got to spend on the stupid ass wifi bitch ass motherfuckin' wifi out of country. my god.", juniper slapped her shoulder as she groaned out all the profanities.
it was no surprise she spent lots of money on the foreign data to even access her phone or the apps on it, she was quite tired of having to reply 'yes' to each message the data plan sent.
the memories came back and it pained her to even receive the stupid message in the first place, why can't she pay for it all beforehand.
"can you watch your mouth. this baby is nearly popping out of my vagina and you're over here cursing like it's the last day of your life. just because you have pirate in your name and you have one leg doesn't mean you can curse like one.", juniper flicked her forehead softly.
"man leave my forehead alone, bro.", her anxiousness was beginning to overwhelm her and it started to turn into grouchiness. juniper wasn't having it at all, rarely ever staying quiet to allow billie to think for a second she had free reign with her.
"i'm not your bro, eilish. watch your mouth.", a hand coiled around her collar and dragged her across the couch, juniper held her face up to her own and glared at her. she hated it when billie got an attitude with her.
"sorry.", she mumbled, kissing juniper's cheek in apology. she knew it was better than to start arguing with her girlfriend, choosing to leave it alone.
"now go get me some pretzels, baby.", juniper cooed, fluttering her eyelashes at her and flashed her puppy dog eyes. billie's head snapped up and stared at her.
"swear you're bipolar.", she whispered to herself. though juniper was hard to deal with at times, she wouldn't change it for anything else.
"you're on in 20, eilish. let's go, champ!", brandon and the other brandon popped their heads in and gave a thumbs up to both of the girls.
