Chapter 23

Mei: are you finally gonna tell me what's going on?

Vince: yeah yeah yeah.

I meet with Vince on the outskirts of the town. He had finally figure out some stuff on why the flow of life in the town is off balance slightly.
Although, he's still not in the best shape after our fight. Some parts of his body is still trying to regenerating itself. Like his left arm and parts of his abdomin.

Vince: There are a few people who are messing around with humans. At least three killed a collection of them outside this town somewhere. I know you've probably seen it. And the other who was shot in the head.
I'm not sure who these people are but I'm quite sure they're the ones causing the balance to be off a bit.

Mei: are you sure?

Vince: ....yes.

This time I could believe him. At a time like this, Vince should know his situation is serious. So this is no time for games.

Mei: I'll take your word for it....I'm leaving.

Vince: ....

I'm my way back home, I could still feel things that are off balance but I couldn't pinpoint where it was.
I made it back in where only Frankenstein, Rai, and Seira where.

Frankenstein: ah. Welcome back.

Mei: .....

Frankenstein: you still seem very irritated. Is everything alright?

Mei: no idea.

I sat down next to Rai and rubbed my forehead.

Exhaustion is what I feel.

Raizel: Do you need to rest, Mei?

Mei: .....

Soon after, Regis had came in.

Where has he been?
Ah yeah, he took the kids home, right?

I could smell the scent of gunpowder that followed along behind him though.

Seira: ...Regis.

Regis: it's nothing. I meet with those guys from before, so I taught them a lesson.

Frankenstein: the guys from before?

Regis: his colleagues...

Is he talking about M-21?

Frankenstein: you...met them?

Regis: he wasn't there. Only the guys that took him were.

Mei: .....

Regis: what a fool to have no friends with class at all. I should say something when I see him.

They argue all the time when they see each other, but Regis seems worried that he's not around.

The pass few days have been very irritation, all the unbalance negative energy is throwing me off.
And M-21 is still gone.
I'm very worried since that last vision I had.

I've been taking a lot of walks lately too. I'd go back home and help prepare dinner....but I believe Frankenstein and Seira are good without me.....Rai will only be focused on ramen anyway.
All of a sudden, I felt an enormous amount of pressure. As of I was being pulled down by gravity.

Mei: ...what the...?

Then, it suddenly stopped.

Vince: Mei, they took them...

Mei: ...!!! The kids...

What do I do? What can I do?
I can't go back for Rai and Frankenstein I'm too far away from the house.
I'm sure they might have noticed that pressure too....

Vince: they are not in a good position, Mei. Its best if you hurry....

Mei: dammit!

I decided to go on ahead. I'm sure they catch up to me later.

I made it to the trail where the kids always walked home. I could tell they were here...but where could they have gone. If it was M-21's 'colleagues'....I better check the old union lab.
I closed my eyes to concentrate. And I was transfered into M-21. The kids are in danger as I thought. But why is M-21 just standing here not helping them?

M-21's thoughts: stop the foolish thoughts. If I make a move I won't get another chance.

I could hear his thoughts.

M-21's thoughts: I'm this close. If I make a move here, my colleagues' goal...M-24's death...will vanish.

Then, I saw a memory....it was M-21's colleagues...but they we're frowning.

M-21's thoughts: don't make those faces...I know how stupid this is...
They have nothing to do with me. I don't care if they die or not....I spent some peaceful times with them and now I'm all emotional.......I have to accoplish my colleagues' goal no matter what...

Mei: these kids are apart of your colleagues' goal....to let them die here is like watching your colleagues die all over again.

M-21: .....

Mei: M-21...you have to save them....you must move...NOW!!

I was suddenly shot back into my own mind.
I need to hurry.

Raizel: Mei.
Mei: ...Rai?

I shot my head around and there was Rai and Frankenstein.

Mei: ...we must hurry...it's getting bad.

Frankenstein: do you know where they are?

Mei: their somewhere around the old union lab.
