100- In The Future

Steven: Well, it was nice to see you, Connie.

Connie: Same here. Please take care of yourself.

Steven: Sure thing. You too.

[Steven and Connie kiss goodbye.]

Connie: See ya, Steven. *walks in her house*

Steven: *looking around for Lion* Alright, I just gotta- Huh? Where are you, Leon?

[Lion has left without Steven.]

Steven: Lion, WHY?! *shouted to the sky*

【A little while later.】

[An exhausted Steven walks up the stairs to the beach house late at night.]

Steven: *sighing* I-I'm finally home.

[Steven picks up the door handle to his house, opens it and as he walks in he spots Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl sitting on the couch, waiting for him. The trio quickly gets up as soon as they see him walk through the doorway and run up to him.]

Pearl: Steven, where have you been?! Have you seen what time it is?!

Steven: Not really.

Pearl: It's 11:37 at night! You had us worried sick!

Garnet: Don't disappear just like that.

Amethyst: If you're going out partying with your friends, at least let me know!

Pearl: Why should he only let YOU know?

Amethyst: No reason, never mind.

Steven: I'm sorry to have made you guys worry. I wasn't partying, I was at Connie's house and Leon disappeared without me noticing, so I had no choice but to walk here.

Pearl: You could have texted us.

Steven: Well, as it happens, my cell phone battery ran out and I left it charging in my room.

Garnet: I see. *adjusts her visors* The chances of Steven leaving his phone at home were slim, but not nil.

Amethyst: Dude, you know what cabs are for, don't you? You could have taken one.

Steven: That... that didn't even cross my mind.

Amethyst: I figured as much.

Pearl: The important thing is that you're home and feeling well.

Garnet: Yup.

Amethyst: So, how's it going, bro?

Pearl: What have you been up to?

Steven: Just chilling.

Garnet: *thumbs-up* Neat.

Amethyst: So, uhhh, have you decided yet?

Steven: What exactly?

Pearl: You know, whether to make the trip again or not.

Garnet: Just know that as your family, whatever decision you make, you can be sure that we'll always support you in everything, Steven.

Pearl: Exactly.

Amethyst: Yuh-huh.

Steven: Well, after giving it some thought.

The Gems: *expectantly* ....

Steven: I've decided to stay here, with you.

Pearl: What the-?!

Amethyst: Are you serious?!

Pearl: What's the reason for this decision?

Steven: I've lived in Beach City practically since I was born, and staying here doesn't mean I'm going to get stuck in any way, I can have a good future here.

The Gems: ...

Steven: At first I just left hoping for self-discovery, but deep down I felt lonely being so far away from everyone... In the end, what I discovered was that I need you very much, and you need me too. That's what a family is all about, isn't it? Always being together, through thick and thin.

Pearl: *moved by Steven's words* Oh, Steven

Amethyst: *moved too* Man.

Garnet: Of course! We'll always be your family.

Pearl: We'll always take care of you and help you with whatever you need.

Garnet: We'll always be here with you, loving you.

Amethyst: You'll never be alone, Steven.

Steven: *tears up* G-Guys, I love you so much!

The Gems: *tearfully* We love you so much too, Steven!

[In tears, Steven and the Gems embrace each other in a big, loving hug.]

[The Gem walks over to the cell's control panel and disables the force field that's keeping Emerald locked in.]

Emerald: *chuckles* Well, well, well....

[Emerald nonchalantly walks out of her cell.]
