Ava's pov

Next day: DT Precision Auto Shop

"Hey Ava." Jesse greeted me as i entered the office.

"Hey Jesse." i waved as i walked over to the front desk.

"I was wondering if you could charge me for Brian's window repair." i handed him my debit card.

"You sure?" he raised a brow.

"Yeah... i feel bad about it." i let out a sigh.

"Well if you insist." he took my card to put it on file.

"Is Brian in there?" i pointed to the repair area.

"Yeah." he smirked at me. "Are you too jumping each other's bones?" he wiggled his brows at me.

"Nobody is jumping anybody's bones here." i shook my head.

"No but seriously do you like Brian?" he handed me my card.

"Mmmm like is a very strong word." i laughed nervously. "Anyways i'm just going to go...." i walked out of the office awkwardly. I wanted to avoid Brian at all costs.

"Hey." i jumped when i heard his voice. I looked up to see Brian leaning against my car.

"Hi." i laughed nervously.

"Why didn't you come say hi?" Brian raised a brow in concern.

"I just didn't want to disrupt you and your work." i responded as he nodded in response.

"Ava... are you avoiding me?"

"Nooo..."

"Can we talk about it?" he scratched the back of his neck.

"Right now?" i bit my lip.

"Yes..."

"I can't right now.... i have to go to work." i let out a sigh.

"Okay so later?"

"I have to rent a uhaul and get my stuff to the new house." i played with my car keys nervously. I didn't want to have this conversation with him. Not now not ever.

"Okay then i'll tag along with you. Then we can talk about it as i help." he smiled innocently.
