"Jesse, truth or dare?" My friend, Jason Stone, asks on the way outside Mount Baker High School.
"Easy, dare." I say confidently.
"Ask out Shay Dixon." Jason smirks. I don't dare meet Cole's eye, I know he's been wanting to ask Shay out for quite some time now. However, he's had many chances. And it's about time I got over Carrie's death.
"That's cruel." Cole points out. "What about Juliette?"
How dare Cole tell Jason I like Juliette!
I shrug and walk up to Shay in the parking lot. Her honey blonde curls blow in the wind, showing off her high cheekbones. At least she'll be impressive as far as hot goes. "Hey Shay, any chance you're free Saturday night?"
She looks up suspiciously. "Yeah, why?"
"Wanna go out? I was thinking, the new pizza place."
The way her pale blue eyes light up makes it all worth it. I can see why Cole likes her. "Sounds great."
