Jay sighed as he sat down on his couch and closed his eyes, his mind drifting to when he met Y/N. It was such an unexpected and heartbreaking meeting that left him half and numb.

When will he ever be able to move on?

It seemed that Y/N did move on. After all, why would she love the one and only person that she thought loved her but ended up hurting her and claiming her as a bet?

A stupid dare he ended up regretting all his life.

Lost in his thoughts, Jay didn't notice Sunghoon who opened the door and stepped inside. "I'm home." He said and that's when Jay turned to him.

Sunghoon was the only one that decided to stay with Jay since the others were busy. Sunoo and Niki had to go to college meanwhile Heeseung, Jake, and Jungwon had to go to work. They hated the fact that they had to leave so soon but promised Jay that they'd come back to see him as soon as possible.

"Welcome back." He muttered before Sunghoon walked over to him, placing bottles of beer in front of them. Jay quickly grabbed one and before Sunghoon knew it, he had already emptied it.

"Slow down, will you?" He said teasingly before he opened one and took a sip of it. Taking a deep breath, he tilted his head up and stared at Jay with a raised eyebrow. "It's about Y/N, right?"

Jay looked at him and sighed before he got up and walked to the balcony, the cold fresh air hitting his face as soon as he stepped out. Sunghoon slowly got up too before he headed out and stood next to him.

"It's been five years... and I still can't move on." He said and stared at the night sky. "I can't stop thinking about her... everything reminds me of her. But it seems that she already found someone better... someone that wouldn't hurt her the way I did." He smiled weakly before drinking some beer.

"You did it for her sake, you know that." Sunghoon looked at him before patting his back.

"I'm starting to regret everything I did. Seeing her smile so warmly at another man made me realize how much of a coward I was." He shook his head and smiled sadly.

"But you loved her."

"I surely did... and I still do." Looking at the sky once again, Jay drank his beer before placing it on the edge of the balcony.

"Then tell her the reason why you did it. I know that we all made a horrible mistake by making that bet but you genuinely love her and it's all that matters. You should tell her everything so she'd know the truth-"

"What if she knows the truth?" Jay turned to him as his voice got slightly louder. "Will she forgive me? Are we going to live happily ever after? No! Because she would think of me as the liar who cowardly left her hurting for the past fucking years!"

Sunghoon's eyes slightly widened at Jay's sudden outburst before he turned his head and looked away.

"I'm sorry..." Jay closed his eyes and breathed heavily, feeling bad that he got angry at the only person that was by his side now. "But even if I tell her the truth now... it's too late. Y/N moved on and found someone better so I can't..."

Looking back at Sunghoon, he shook his head and smiled sadly. "I can't take away her happiness and let her suffer again."

Sunghoon sighed and closed his eyes before he stared back at Jay, placing his hand on his back.

"If you love her, truly, then fight for her." And with that he left, letting his words play again and again in Jay's mind.

He spent the whole night thinking about Y/N that he didn't even realize it was already morning. Not until he heard the birds whispering next to his window.

Turning around, Jay got up and slowly walked near the window before he opened the curtains, the sunlight blinding his view. It was indeed morning and he couldn't help but sigh.

Y/N was making him go insane.

. . .

"Hello, Mr. Park," Employees greeted him as he slightly nodded, but he wasn't paying much attention to them. All that caught his attention was Junseok who greeted him politely before he returned to his work.

Jay glanced at him once more before he headed to his office. Junseok seemed to be a great man and that made Jay feel worse. How would he fight for Y/N when she found someone so decent, someone that brought the smile on her lips?

He did nothing but hurt her. He lied to her and humiliated her in front of the whole school so how would she forgive him?

And such thoughts kept haunting Jay as he couldn't do anything other than stare at Junseok from afar. How he talked on the phone with a smile plastered on his face and how his ears reddened from time to time.

Was it because of Y/N?

Not able to fight his curiosity, Jay stood up and made his way out of his office. Slowly walking next to Junseok, he heard him say;

"Let's meet at the park nearby my workplace. Hana will love the place." He smiled warmly and Jay furrowed his eyebrows at the unfamiliar name.

Hana?

After some hours of work, it was finally time to go home. Junseok organized his files and grabbed his coat before making his way out of the building.

Jay watched him as he walked to one of the flower shops nearby and waited for him patiently until he got out with a bouquet of pink tulips. And that's when Jay knew for sure that it was Y/N he was going to meet.

Junseok walked to the park with the bouquet of flowers in his hands before he stopped and placed his phone next to his ear. Smiling, he started walking again until he stopped in front of Y/N, making Jay's eyes widen a little.

She was so pretty, so breathtakingly beautiful that Jay couldn't stare at anything but her. But when Junseok gave her the bouquet of flowers and when her eyes lit up in joy, Jay's heart ached.

They looked so perfect together that Jay couldn't help but think; what if he went back in time and stopped himself from hurting her, would he be in Junseok's place?

Feeling his heart break, he stared at them when a little girl started running toward Junseok before he opened his arms and held her tightly as she smiled widely.

Jay furrowed his eyebrows as his heart started beating faster at the sight of the three people together.

Is she...

"Mommy is going to catch us!"

Jay heard Junseok say when his eyes widened and everything stopped around him. All he could see was Y/N running after Junseok and the little girl as they laughed and enjoyed themselves.

And as Hana's giggles got louder, Jay closed his eyes and the tears fell down his cheeks.
