Y/N grabbed the bags of vegetables and made her way to the kitchen. Jay was lying on his couch while Hana was still sound asleep, and Y/N decided to make soup for them.

Wearing the apron that was hung next to the door, she placed the vegetables in the sink before she started preparing everything needed for Naengguk. It was a sunny day and the cold soup was the perfect dish at that moment.

As she cut the vegetables and made the soup, she looked around her in the kitchen. It was so clean that Y/N couldn't help but wonder if Jay cooks anything for himself.

It didn't seem like someone had used it before and that made her think about him bringing other women to his apartment.

Of course, he would. Jay was known to be a playboy, but could he had changed?

Y/N tilted her head to the side as she put everything on the stove and started cooking it. Just then, Jay silently walked into the kitchen before he went to Y/N, sneaking his arms around her waist as he put his chin on her shoulder.

Seeing her like that made him wonder how their days would be if they were together. Him waking up to her cooking for him before he'd hug her and give her morning kisses.

Jay felt himself getting jealous of how Junseok got to live all of that when it was all that he dreamt of. But again, Junseok is good to her, unlike him.

"Hey," He whispered and closed his eyes, half asleep.

A yelp left Y/N's lips before she slightly turned her head, her cheeks heating up the moment her eyes landed on his lips so close to her neck.

"What are you doing...? The soup isn't ready yet so go and rest." She said, trying her best not to let her eyes meet his. Before he knew it, Y/N had pushed him out of the kitchen and to the couch.

Jay chuckled and shook his head before he gave in, taking off his slippers and lying down on his stomach once again. He closed his eyes as he let out a sigh and Y/N smiled softly.

"I'll wake you up when food is ready but for now, sleep some more." She said and stared at him as he didn't say anything, still closing his eyes. He looked so peaceful and charming that Y/N couldn't move from her spot.

She kept on staring at him until she heard him clear his throat. "Stop staring at me, I'm trying to sleep," Jay said before Y/N widened her eyes.

"What? Who- who was staring at you?" She scoffed and quickly turned around to leave when her leg hit the table and she fell down on the ground.

"Ah... that hurts..." She bit her lip, trying to stop herself from groaning in pain.

Jay sat up and looked at her before he started laughing. "How are you so clumsy?" He sighed with the same smile plastered on her lips and patted the place next to him. "Come here."

Y/N looked at him before she got up and sat down next to him. She was wearing a black knee-length skirt so she could perfectly see how the red bruise formed on her leg. "Ah..." She sighed as she touched it.

Just then, Jay grabbed her leg and pulled it to him, making Y/N widen her eyes. Slowly lowering his head, his lips collided with her skin when he left a gentle kiss on her bruise.

With wide eyes and red cheeks, Y/N stared at him as she felt her heart skip a beat. Butterflies danced in her stomach when he looked up at her, eyes full of desire.

His hands found their way to her waist before he pulled her to him, their faces inches apart. He stared at her then back at her lips and his heart was about to explode.

She was so beautiful.

Slowly reducing the distance between them, Jay leaned to her before he closed his eyes. He always dreamt of kissing her and now their lips were about to touch.

Before she knew it, Y/N found herself closing her eyes and leaning towards him. She would have lied if she said she didn't want to kiss him at that moment. His lips looked so captivating that she couldn't help but crave them.

But Jay stopped midway and opened his eyes, staring at her before he let out a sigh and pulled away from her.

How did he think about kissing someone taken?

Slowly opening her eyes, Y/N stared at him with confusion before he cleared his throat and looked away. "I... I'm sorry." He said with his head down low.

She looked at him for a while as she kept on blinking, confused. Her cheeks started heating up when she realized that they were about to kiss and that she closed her eyes, wanting it too. Closing her eyes, Y/N mentally facepalmed herself and turned away from him.

There was an awkward silence as they sat there, no one uttering a word. Y/N fidgeted with her fingers before she raised her head and looked around her. His furniture was so simple yet so beautiful. The plants and the paintings...

Y/N furrowed her eyebrows when her eyes landed on a painting hung on the wall. She slowly stood up and walked to it, scanning it thoroughly. "Is this-"

Before she knew it, Jay stood in front of her and stared at her nervously. "This? It's nothing... let's just go back-" He said when she gently grabbed his hand and looked right into his eyes.

"I already saw it." She said with a small smile and squeezed his hand. "Is it... the one I gave you?" She asked before he sighed and looked away.

"Yes..." He muttered, letting Y/N see the painting as he stood next to her. "I hate you." He smiled sadly. "That's what you said when you gave it to me..."

Y/N looked down, remembering how much she cried on that day. "But... I never drew that red rose." She said, looking back at Jay who smiled.

"I drew it... those were my feelings for you." He confessed before he turned to look at her, her hazel eyes slightly brimming with tears.

"Red roses symbolize passion and true love... and I was so in love with you-" He said when he shook his head with a sad smile. "I still am..."

"Jay..." She whispered. She was so focused on his eyes that she did not even notice how much closer he was now.

"Everything I told you on that day was never real," he said and his eyes shone brightly.

"Because I always loved you, Y/N.
