Luna's POV

"Yes, Derek I'm getting off the plane now. Yes, I will message you when I'm in the Taxi. Okay... Bye" Looking back around me to see the fact I was alone again. It wasn't something I hated, I loved being alone it was just different being in a new place without people I'm familiar with.

Derek and Addison had suggested I change my name and last names and I'd decided to take both of theirs. It was weird for the first time in my life I wasn't sure what I was doing. I knew I wanted to do Surgery and help people but I didn't know where. Until Amelia told me about this Surgeon in Boston who was looking for a Resident to study underneath her and I emailed her straight away which is how I ended up in Boston. But after I graduated Medical school I booked a plane ticket to Europe and travelled around there for the last few months. Mark had visited me once and I hadn't spoken to him since. Not that either of us had reached out to the other.

Mrs Luna Shepherd~Montgomery

The driver was rather tall and quite buff. But looked nice, he didn't look like a creep which made me feel a bit safer.

"Hey I'm Luna," I said smiling at him. He just nodded at me as I got into the back.

The journey was quick through all the traffic and looking up at all the tall buildings. It felt like fresh air being in a new city. Pulling up to one of the tallest buildings in sight. I could tell Derek and Mark picked this apartment for me as it looked very expensive and was right next to the hospital. I would've picked an apartment further out and near a park to run around. But they'd set everything up for me.

As I gathered my stuff and entered the building, the women gave me a tour of the whole building and the amenities. One good thing about Mark and Derek setting this apartment up for me was that they'd unpacked my stuff from my storage unit and furnished the place. So all I had to do was unpack my cases.

Then it sunk in I was gonna be here for 2 years. I plugged my laptop in to log in to see if I had any emails from the surgeon. I hadn't heard anything about her apart from winning two Harper Avery awards. Ellis Grey. I looked her up on the internet and started researching her. One of the best general surgeons.

1year later

"Ellis we've got a donor from Washington flying in now. Will be here in the next hour! I've booked an OR on standby." I said walking quickly next to her.

I'd been working with her for a year now and it was the best she treated me like a daughter. She let me do solo surgeries and I was being treated like a 5th year resident, not a 2nd year.

"This is why you're my Resident and no one else. Dr Shepherd." I felt so proud working under her she pushed me very hard to be the best I could be.

Derek, Mark and Addison had finally come to visit me last weekend, and it was weird to show them around the city. Mark and I had a drunken make-out, which ended in Derek and Mark getting into an argument about me. Which was just Derek being protective.

Running up to the helipad to get the donor organ I paged Ellis to the OR so she was ready for the surgery. When I arrived at the OR with the donor Ellis wasn't scrubbed in or anything I was very confused as she had been prepping all day.

"Ellis, what's going on we have the organ we need to get started?" I questioned her. Things had been weird recently, she'd let me take over halfway or she'd let me take over her whole service while she went around from state to state going to different hospitals.

"You're gonna do it. I know you can. My head hurts and I want to watch you do it!" I didn't like arguing with Ellis much so I always listened to her. She is my mentor after all.
