"Posie okay?"

Her gaze raised to meet Kyros's, but the words died in her mouth.

He sighed and took a seat next to her, his arm brushing against hers. "Worried?"

"Very."

He hummed in understanding. They were just one sleep away from the ceremony, and Kyros had filled her in on what this ceremony consisted of. The "reception" part of it seemed like it would be fun. A big celebration with food, music, and dancing.

The ceremony seemed normal enough for the most part... Beside the fact that he had to "mark" her? Whatever that meant. He seemed uncomfortable explaining it to her for a long time. Trying to get him to speak about it was like pulling teeth, but he eventually caved.

The conversation went like this:

Her eyes widened in horror. "You have to bite me!?"

.... So that's how that conversation went. Now here they were, everything out on the table, just one night away from being bonded together forever.

Based on the information he gave her, it seemed like his people expected them to consummate the marriage that night, which seemed obvious to her. That's typically how it went on earth. However, it was one thing what his people expected of her, and another thing what he expected of her. He hadn't exactly been clear on that part yet, both of them avoiding the topic.

His reason being, he wanted everything to be up to her. He never wanted to push anything on her, so he remained quiet on those topics so it wouldn't stress her out. Little did he know, not talking about it made her overthink even more than she normally did.

"Will it hurt?" She asked, softly.

His brows raised, his eyes widening.

"The... marking." She clarified.

Oh. He scratched the back of his head. "I...."

"Of course it will. You're biting me." She cut him off, exasperated at herself for asking such a dumb question. "And you have never had a woman on this planet, so I'm the first one. How would you know?"

"Hey, it's okay." He took her hand in his, trying to calm her down. "You know I'd never intentionally hurt you... right?"

Intentionally. He's been really a studying that book.

Her eyes fell to the ground. "I think so." She admitted, quietly. Before he could say anything else, she muttered, "I'm think I'm gonna head to bed."

His hand caught her wrist before she could get far. He didn't look at her, nor did he say anything. He just wordlessly took her little hand in his big one and guided her to bed.

They pulled back the blankets and crawled under the covers. His heart fluttered in his chest when she initiated the physical contact. He always noticed when she did it first.

She laid on her side, her front against his side and her hand on his scaled, bare chest. Quietly, she whispered. "I trust you, Kyros."

Guards came in and escorted her another section of the castle. She released a breath she didn't know she was holding and ran her hands down her white dress to smooth it out. They stopped when they came face to face with huge iron doors. The guards knocked 3 times and the grand vine covered doors of the entrance opened. The wind was knocked out of her at the amount of people in the room, surprised this amount of people could fit. Not a single seat was empty, but she guessed this was to be expected. This was the first wedding this planet has ever had.
