A content sigh escaped her smile as she watched Kyros play with some of the boys in the distance.

He had a faun, no older than six years old, hanging from one arm, and werewolf boy around the same age dangling from the other. The boys were squealing and laughing their heads off as Kyros spun them around- careful not to drop them, fairly high off the ground in his arms.

When the werewolf boy let go, he expected the faun boy to as well, but he just hung onto his tree trunk of an arm with a cheeky grin. Kyros playfully glared at the boy and raised his free hand over the boy's stomach, threateningly.

Before the boy could react, Kyros's mercilessly fingers dug into the boy's sides with light tickles, causing him to giggle and let go, safely on the ground again.

He chased after the boys, sending them right into Posie's direction. "Cubo ac! Cubo ac!" The boys squealed in their language and hid behind their queen.

"Save you?" Kyros mocked what they said in English so Posie would understand what the boys said. He prowled closer, and it was then she realized he wasn't coming after the boys anymore. "But who will save the queen?" With a battle cry, he darted towards his wife.

Before she could react, she was already hauled over his broad shoulder in a fit of giggles. It was now her turn to cry out, "Cubo ac," to the boys, hoping she pronounced it correctly.

It was now the boys' turn to let out a fierce battle cry and chase after their king. With their tiny fists in the air, they charged after him.

Of course, Kyros slowed down enough so they could catch up and "tackle" him. He dramatically fell to his knees, careful not to drop Posie.

Once the boys had him of there ground, one boy fought Kyros, while the other ushered Posie to safety.

Once she was "safe" the boy turned to her and flipped her off. She blinked, surprised by the gesture. He noticed her blank stare and asked, "good?"

Did Crid seriously make these children believe that flipping someone off was the same thing as a thumbs up?

She smiled and flipped him off. The boy seemed satisfied with that and wasted no time running back to help his friend take down the king.

She couldn't help but sit back and admire her husband in this moment. He was so gentle with them, but in reality, these boys were tougher than her.

In a way, majority of the men here were already fathers. As a community, they raised the boys that would appear from the portal, children of all ages.

They took them in as their own, raised them, taught them how to survive on this planet, fight, hunt, and kill. But also did the fatherly duties such as nurturing them, loving them, cleaning up their scrapes when they fell, teaching them how to be a good man, providing for them, etc...

And now that she was watching Kyros rough house with these boys, she felt like she just fell in love with him all over again. He would make such an incredible father, because in a way, he already was one.

She watched from a distance as Kyros told the boys they did a good job, but he needed to get back to his queen now. She met him halfway and they made their way back to their home to eat breakfast.

The second the door was closed behind them, Posie's hand reached for his and they interlocked. He felt her tug on his hand to gain his attention and he peered down at her with a curious smile.
