It's the first game day of the season. With my back facing the girls who're laughing and helping each other prepare, I put on my cheer top over my sports bra as well as the skirt.

There's a knock on the locker room. I don't move and keep my head towards my locker. One of the girls opens the door and I can hear mumbles behind my back.

"Di, your boyfriend is here to see you" giggles and ooh's erupt in the locker room and I roll my eyes.

With a low sigh I adjust my skirt before leaving the locker room. Miles is waiting outside, in full gear for his game except his helmet.

"Hey, can we talk?" I nod my head and let him lead the way out to the empty hallways.

When he stops he faces me and looks at me with concern filling his eyes. I look away because I can't stand his stare.

"Can you please stop ignoring me? You haven't answered my calls or texts since I left your house" he speaks with a soft tone, not mad or frustrated, just concerned.

"I'm not ignoring you" I whisper, looking down at the ground. His fingers finds my chin, lifting my head up to make me lock eyes with him.

"I'm your best friend, remember? What's wrong?" He takes a step forward, moving his hand to hold my jaw, his thumb grazing my cheekbone. "Friend to friend, not fake boyfriend to fake girlfriend"

"Nothing is wrong Miles, I need to go and get ready for the game, you should too" I move out of his grasp and take a step away, heading towards the locker room again. Although a hand grabs my wrist and pulls me back until I'm in his arms.

"Don't fucking lie to me, Diana. I'm trying to help you but you're being fucking impossible" he spits out with frustration. Anger and exhaustion is the only thing I'm feeling at this moment.

"Then just drop it!" I scream in his face, hoping no one is around to hear us.

"No! I'm not going to drop it until you're telling me the truth" his hands are placed on each side of my head, pulling me against him to kiss my forehead "I want you to be okay"

I'm on the nerve of breaking down completely. Tears are threatening to roll down my cheeks when his arms wrap around my body.

"Good luck out there" I place my hands on his forearms, getting out of his grip and begin walking back to the locker room.

When the game begins I feel sick during our whole cheer routine but make a fake smile through it.

The boys are doing great as always and Miles is showing that he's supposed to own that captain role.
