Hello!

As some of you know I have two rotating masks of Sun and Moon. A lot of you liked it. I got one person who (semi) asked for a tutorial on how to make it. It's too long to fit in a comment chain so I decided to make a chapter dedicated to this mask for those who are curios on how it works or for those who want to make it themselves. I'll be sure to add photo's, measurements, materials used, and customization tips.

I've been at this whole "cosplay/crafting" thing since 7th grade so I've been dying to share what I've learned throughout the 5 years self-teaching myself.  I'll get to the material list.

P.S I strongly recommended reading this entire chapter before trying it, I'm not good at explaining things and usually leave things out (this is why I'm adding some visual aid to this). You can also skip or add things to your process if you decided you want to be with or without some things.

Materials:
-Hot glue (I use ones that come in a bundle from the dollar store, you're going to need *a lot*).

-cardboard sheets for the main part of the head and cardboard for the headpiece, you're going to need at least 4 sheets each 18 inches or 48cm width wise, 16 1/2 inches or 42.5 cm length wise for the round head.
(I recommended you get cardboard that's a bit bigger than these measurements so you have room for error or encase your measurements are bigger than mine. I also recommended you have spare cardboard that has the same measurements as the head width wise, or you could measure your head)

Make sure to use cardboard that has ridges/has those "~~~" lines in the middle, they're better for flexibility and creating a smoother surfaces if your trying to make things look seamless.

- A big [round] plate (27.5 cm diameter wise, don't know what it is in inches, measurements taken from just across the place). You can use a bowl too, I used a plate though. Or you can measure your head and make it as big or small as you'd like. I made mine big therfore I used a big plate.
-1 screw [for each mask] (2-3 cm or 1 inch)
-Magnets or semi-circle marbles. Anything that can be used as weights and be glued.
-Paint, acrylics work just fine (depending on who you're doing will depend on what colors you use, obvi)
-Paper, printer paper or lined paper is good, you'll just need to tape two together in order to get they layout right
-Tape
If you're doing both Sun and Moon things like screws and magnets will be multiplied.

There's technically two ways to do this, I used the method that uses less cardboard.

Step 1.
Cut out three circles from the cardboard using a bowl or plate. Make sure it's bigger than your face. At this point it doesn't matter what's front what's back and what's middle, I personally like to label things so I don't mix them up since I'm a mess with organization. It's also just good to decide what's going to be what.

You're plan should look something like this:

Once you decide which is going to be the base, make a hole with the screw in the middle. It doesn't have to be perfect but (just in case) poke a hole with the screw on the base and middle cardboard base, make sure that the screw goes all the way through the first bases but dents the middle base (the one that will rotate). For the third (face) base you mark where the middle is (same as the first base so everything aligns).
