they girls were building san castles as i laid on the towel on the sand. i watched how well they got along with each other.
"ren! we wanna get in the water!" tai say.
"okay come on." i smile. i got up and we went to the water.
"why kai not come?" she ask.
"she uhm... she was busy." i say and she nodded.
i'm not sure if telling them we not together gonna ruin their friendship and i don't want that so ima just stay quiet about it.
"is it sharks?" simone say holding onto tai.
"nooo ain't no sharks." tai giggle.
"stay by me.."
"k! lets play with the water toys."

we were back on the sand eating snacks. my phone rang and it was my mom. i answered putting it up to my ear.
"hey baby, what y'all doin?"
"still at the beach."
"kai here to come get tai... want me to tell her you will just drop her off home??"
"yeah."
"k baby. yall have fun now." i heard her chuckle.
"we will."
she hung up and i sighed.
everytime i got kai off my mind someone mentions her and she's right back in my head.
i thought about the good things other than kai. i watched as tai gave simone a cheese it and simone gave her a gummy.
they were adorable.
"yall wanna walk to the plaza for some real food."
"yes!" simone pop up.
we got up and and they put on their little skirt cover ups, and i put on mine.
i picked up our stuff putting it in the beach bag. simone quickly grabbed tai hand as the picked up their slides.
"come on." i say.
we walked to the showers and i just ringside their feet off and dried them doing the same to mine.
cause walking with sand in the way feels weird as hell.

"what y'all want?" i ask as we made it to where the food was.
"uh hot dog?"
"yeah. hot dog."
we went in the line and i looked around and saw kai.
"what the fuck." i sigh.
she smiled walking up to us.
"wassup." he smile.
"hey kai!" simone smile.
"hi sissy." tai wave.
"yall gettin food?"
"mhmm!" tai hum.
"rem why you not say hi to kai." simone frown.
"hi kai." i say dryly.
"hey mama." she smile. i rolled my eyes as we moved up.
once we got up there they told me what the wanted and i got it. kai handed me her card and i grabbed it quickly and paid for everything. i gave it back and kai held the food.
"cmon." i say to the girls and found a table.
"hm." she set the door out from the trey.
"why are you here." i say.
"wanted to have fun... i can't?" she chuckle.
"nothing fucking funny." i mumble.
"it's hit be careful." i say to simone.

"ren." she put her hand on my thigh.
"i don't wanna snap so fucking move." i look at her annoyed.

"when maybe you should learn." i open my phone.

"well i want you too!" i snap. and simone and tai looked at me.
"you ok?" simone say.
"yeah just eat." i shake my head.
why did she want to pop up where i was? she can't give me space for shit. i wanna be left alone but she don't seem to get that.

"the swim suit i bought you..." she say and i looked down and realized she did buy me this.

"ren why can't we talk like adults."

"yeah you showing that real fucking clearly kai. i wanna be left alone i want to leave me the fuck alone i don't want nothing do with you okay." i felt my eyes burn i sigh as my leg shook.
"just tryna have a good day and i can't." i wipe the tear that didn't even have the chance to fall.

"bye yall." she smile standing.
"no kai you swim with us! pleaseeeeee." simone say.
"yeah! please."

"can she please ren please!"
"nah i got stuff to do yall..."

"please please please please please please please please— okay! okay she's gonna swim jesus." i say and they giggled and smiled.
"life just can't get any fucking better huh...." i mumble. "yall finish up yall food so we can go back."
