Kayla's POV

I gently ran my thumb over the back of his hand, praying that he'll open those beautiful eyes soon. Guilt had started to eat away at me; I abandoned him, my daughters, and my pack. Yet, they welcomed me back with open arms, relived that their Luna was finally home. I didn't deserve it though, I caused them to go through hell. I caused Xander to literally go insane until he was able to control his wolf. I caused my youngest to get abused to the point she ran away, leaving my mate guilt filled and depressed.

I sighed, he had no reason to be depressed though. He was the one who caused her pain, to force her to run away. I know I left him and I know he has an issue with his powerful wolf, but that's still no excuse. His wolf was only able to control him for that long because he allowed his anger, hurt, and betrayal to get the better of him. He could have calmed his wolf down and actually see reality. To see that his daughter didn't force me to leave him.

He killed an innocent rogue who was pregnant after knowing I was highly against that. He didn't just take one life, he took two. Her poor mate showed up on our pack grounds only a few days later, begging for my warriors to kill him. So, I let them. I know I'm no better than Xander, but that doesn't mean I'm cold and heartless.

He's always been a rather cruel man, the first day I met him I was afraid of him. I kept pushing him away, spitting out hateful words, flirting with other men to get him to reject me. That was until he was badly injured when rogues had managed to attack. He was on the brink of death, he couldn't breathe on his own, he was bloody, and had multiple broken bones. It had scared me; I had realized then that I didn't want to lose him.

Of course, after he woke up he didn't speak to me for three months. He even rejected me, mated with someone else and almost made her Luna. I have no idea what had happened between them, but he came running to my doorstep. He grabbed me and kissed me, crying that he was sorry. I didn't believe him though and rejected him.

It took us months to actually accept each other, to actually say the words, "I love you". It was a terrible winter, but it had taught us the true meaning of being mates. I know Celina's mate isn't the best guy around, but I hope she stays with him. I hope she fixes him like no one else did. He had a terrible childhood after his parents died; I'll never forget what that Beta did to him. The poor boy, he almost died.

Author's note: So, I decided to give you guys some insight on Celina's mother. Now, you'll find out more about her and Xander's relationship in maybe a spin off book. That's not for a while now though. And now you know that Beta had done something horrible to Hades.
