"What are you going to do about it?" Sophie asks sipping her green tea delicately

I shrug my shoulders passively

The thoughts in my head are causing me pain

"You love her," Sophie states raising her eyebrow

Again I shrug my shoulders

"Chris, this isn't a damn soliloquy so you need to start saying something,"
Sophie snaps

We're sitting in a cute rustic café in Soho and I gaze out of the window at the passerbys

"I remember mum telling me that she would never leave me and that she loved me," I say nostalgically with a tinge of bitterness

"Dad always said mum dying affected you the most," Sophie says sadly taking another sip of her tea

"I refuse to get hurt again," I state defiantly

"And you think leaving her isn't going to hurt?" Sophie asks waving for the attention of a barista

"I'll get over it," I snap back in defence

"Like you got over mum," she scoffs cruelly

Sophie orders more green tea and a latte for me

"This is going to end badly," Sophie prophecies but I shrug my shoulders

Going back to solitude isn't a bad thing
