I drop her off at home
I want her so desperately to stay with me until the baby is born but I know it's not going to work out that way
The next day me and her go the doctor and that's when I see my beautiful pumpkin for the first time
There are tears in my eyes and she wipes them away tenderly with her hands
"Look, that's what our love and affection has created," she whispers softly
Smiling sweetly, I whisper back
"I have a present for you but it won't be ready until the baby is just about to be born," I say kissing her on the back of her palm
Her face lights up and trips back to those days when our love was full of passion and lust
I drop her off and kiss her on the cheek goodbye and look at her despondently as she disappears into the house
When I get home, I lie down in the middle of the nursery gazing at the scan in awe and wonder
My phone begins ringing
"So now she's back home and presumbly safe can I plan a conference with the family and tell them the news?" Sophie says in her matter of fact cold voice
"I'll go food shopping tomorrow," I sigh heavily
"They'll want to meet her too. Invite her and make sure she deceives everyone like she deceived you," Sophie states before hanging up
I hesistate to text her in case she doesn't reply to the invitation
She happily does so
