Leiloni's POV

A loud shriek of a girl woke me up. Adrenaline rushed through my veins that made me quickly stood up. I roamed my eyes around the room, rays of the sun are already peeking out to the tiny holes of the window so I think it's already morning. All of them are still sound asleep but my heart skipped a beat when I noticed that someone was missing. Where is Angel? I glanced at the door, the chairs and tables that were used to obstruct the door were already removed and the door is wide open.

"Help me!"

I hurriedly removed one cardboard that was used to cover the window, there I saw Angel laying on the ground with a crazy student on the top of her. Without hesitation, I quickly picked up the crowbar near Aaron and rushed outside the room. Even though I'm a bit scared, I hurriedly went outside and ran towards Angel. I did not hesitate to smash the head of the crazy student and it wildly rolled to the side. It was about to stand up but I forcefully smashed its head continuously until its head broke apart and parts of its brain were sticking out.

I stopped what I was doing when Angel hugged me, I dropped the crowbar that I was holding and I realized that the crazy student was already dead. I was catching my breath and covered in sweat. Blood was all over the grass and on my uniform. I looked at my hands and it was also covered with blood.

"Thanks for saving me," Angel said while still hugging me, "I'm so sorry I disobeyed you guys, I-I just want to see if my brother is still out here," her voice broke and started to cry. I wiped the blood on my hands using my skirt and hugged Angel. I gently rubbed her back and comforted her.

"Angel it's okay, I know that it's hard to lose someone you love but you need to start to accept the reality. We all know what happened to your brother and you know that he's not coming back," She's still crying so I faced her and looked directly to her eyes. Her face and eyes are turning red and tears are still running down her cheeks, "It's not safe out here anymore, and even if you're brother is here, he would also say that you should take care of yourself. Because in this world... in this world, your only ally is yourself," she nodded wiping her tears using her hands.

We stood up and went back inside the room but they're still wide asleep so Angel and I helped each other to block the door with chairs and tables but quietly. I think when danger comes these people won't survive, especially Lauren who's still loudly snoring. I picked my phone up off the floor and tried to see if dad left me a message. But unfortunately, there are no messages nor miss calls from dad. Maybe he lost his phone, yeah that's the only thing I can think of now. I was about to text him but my phone suddenly turned off. Oh shit not now! I groaned out of frustration. I really hate low batteries during important moments.

I sat on the floor and took a deep sigh. I can't lose my hope on dad, I know he's strong and doesn't give up easily. He's safe and I'm sure of it. Angel sat beside me so I looked at her, she just smiled.

"Are you okay?" She asked.

"Yeah I'm perfectly fine, you feeling better?" I saw Aaron move so I looked at him. I thought that he'll wake up but he just hugged Mellisa and continue sleeping, so I turn my attention back to Angel.
