Chapter Twenty Seven

Elena felt herself being placed in a car, "Drive as fast as you can" A voice commanded and she whimpered, she could recognize his voice anywhere.

Matthew...

Her eyes fluttered open then closed, her mind was blank, all she could remember was Leo being shot

"Leo... Leo..." She whispered between heavy breathes

"Stop fucking saying his name!" Matthew hissed as he tugged her harshly causing her to cry in pain, blood from her injuries was still gushing out and she felt herself on verge of passing out.

Her last thoughts, before she fainted, were about Leo's well-being...

Leo's men along with his family were standing outside his room in the hospital. His mom was crying while his dad hugged her, his sister was the same wreck. All of them were waiting for the doctor or one of the nurses to come out. When the doctor came out, they rushed towards him.

"How is he, doctor?" Carlos was the first to ask, his voice was raspy

"He's fine, don't worry about him. We took out the bullet and he's lucky he didn't lose much blood, he's now resting and you can see him when he wakes up in half an hour. Have a good day" All of them sighed in relief

"Thank you" Lorenzo, Leo's father, said gratefully

Leo was hearing the familiar voices but all he could see was a black picture, he struggled to open his eyes but when his eyes met the blind light, he closed them again.

He reopened them and the image was clear this time. When he saw that everything around him was white, he realized that he was in the hospital

"Leo! You're awake!"

"How are you feeling?"

"Are you okay?"

"Do you want us to call the doctor?"

As his family asked questions, he looked around searching for the only face he wanted to see while he kept remembering what had happened

"Where's Elena?" That was his first question and just like that everyone in the room stopped talking.

His father and mother shared a look while Carlos looked at the floor and El started crying.

Upon seeing their grim expressions, Leo's heart started pounding like crazy

"She took two bullets, is she fine?"

No answer.

"She's resting in other room, right?"

Leo's temper started to boil when no one said anything,

"Carlos," He started with gritted teeth, "Tell me where the fuck is Elena?"

"Matthew took her"

This simple statement caused Leo to lose it, "What? What?!" He clutched his stomach as he started to get up while his family looked at him in alert.

"Where do you think you're going?" Carlos got in the way, "Our men are already searching for an evidence so we can know where she is, you need to stay in bed 'til you get better other than that you won't help us"

"He's going to call" Leo muttered causing the others to look at him in confusion

"Matthew. I know him very well. He's going to call me to brag about having Elena with him, give me my cellphone" He instructed as an officer walked in the room

"Mr. Valdimare, glad you're awake. My name's__"

"I don't care about your name, I want your best men to find that fucker immediately!"
