" how was your year at that
posh-y private school,
james? "

It was the summer of 1975 and June Davies was working in her brother's record shop. This shop, which her brother made out of nothing, but his insane talent of finding diamonds in the rough, was June's escape from her disgustingly normal life. The air around her smelled of stale coffee made from the store's very old coffee maker and of the dust that lingered on the old records. It was a smell that gave June life.

June worked at her brother's shop whenever she could, which was mainly every day. Even if she wasn't working, she'd tag along with her brother. She'd either spend the day annoying the shit out of him, or she'd spend time rifling through the new found records her brother kept in the back room. It was nice. Just so nice to be doing something she enjoyed. School was a disaster, June could never pay attention for more than twenty minutes in each class. Her parents were very much blah (it's why June spent so much time with her brother). And she didn't have any hobbies besides hanging out at Robbie's Records. So, she spent her time there, with the only family she got along with.

To be more specific, it was in the middle of the summer of 1975 when -what June thought was a very attractive boy- walked in. He looked incredibly ruffled. His hair was a mess. The glasses on his face sat crooked on his nose. And the deep brown eyes behind his glasses moved wildly around, taking in every aspect of the shop. June could tell he was a new costumer. First, she knew she would have recognized someone that looked that, and secondly, he looked to be very lost. June, who was always pretty bold, walked up to him and offered some help.

Every summer after that, the boy, who she came to know as James Potter, would stop by the shop and entertain her. Sometimes he'd bring along his three best friends and they'd all hang out until the store closed at night. June Davies loved Robbie's Records before, but after meeting the four boys, who were extremely strange but also the funniest people she'd ever met, Robbie's Records became a haven to herself and her new friends.

͙˚*☾ 𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒆𝒔:
June is a muggle and so
is her brother. they don't know
about magic

— June and her brother Robbie
are four years apart (Robbie is 20)

— the Davie siblings are close
because they don't like their
parents... their parents aren't
the best. they are rude to Robbie
because of his shop (they think he
should be in college) and they're
mean to June because she doesn't
do well in school and she doesn't
have friends besides Robbie

— June and Robbie can live
together

— James came into their record
store because he was getting a gift
for Sirius (he tells June "uh, I need
a gift for a friend." June asks what the
occasion is and Jame says "for running
away from home. he needs cheering up")

— James tells June the kind of music
Sirius listens too and June knows just
what to get him. they go into the back
and she gives whatever record to James

— Sirius loves the record and the two
of them come back to the shop. that's
how it starts with them getting close

— June only sees them in the summer
or during winter break when James
is home from Hogwarts

— you could have James and June
be flirty and kind of a thing, but then
when the wizarding war gets bad, James
joins the Order and he doesn't see
June for a bit

— this could be an au where James
ends up with June and he comes to
the shop after Voldemort is gone
because of Neville or James could
be killed and Remus and Sirius can
come to June and they'd tell her the
truth about the wizarding world
