Going to a school with a much larger male population was a bit difficult, and Anita would know. It didn't feel great to be looked down on, and she hated being expected to do worse than her male counterparts. This made Anita push herself to the top of her class, and eventually, she became one of the smartest, and best students at Durmstrang. With her soaring grades and above average spell work, Anita was invited to attend Hogwarts for the Triwizard Tournament. She was ecstatic. It was time to prove that she really belonged, so of course, she entered.
As she put her name in the Goblet of Fire, she turned around to her male classmates and saw looks of doubt, intermingled with minuscule looks of pride. When she turned to look at the Beauxbatons' girls, she saw looks of challenge. And when she made eye-contact with a red-haired boy who didn't think she'd have the skills, she walked over and said, "Surprise, bitch."

— and I see Ron and Anita bonding over their feeling of being second best... of course ron isn't angry with his relationship with Harry, but we know in this story/movie Ron gets jealous
— Ron and Anita bond a lot when Harry and Ron stop talking... Anita doesn't think Harry put his name in
— Anita isn't picked to be the Durmstrang contestant, it's still Krum
— I can see Anita helping Harry and offering to help Fleur because she guesses Harry doesn't know many spells, and she wants to help Fleur cause of female solidarity
