"man up. stop crying like a lil' girl. that's not what you are, is it? a'ight then. get up and dust yourself off. . . i don't ever wanna' see you cryin' like that again.

cryin' is for bitches."

"why don't you ever open up to me, Carter?" tears rimmed her eyes as she looked up at me pleadingly.

I rolled my eyes and stepped into the bathroom.
"Carter. . . Carter--"

I closed and locked the door before she could push her way into the room with me.

"Carter, open the fucking door, you asshole!" she banged on the door as I started the shower and grabbed a few towels from the bathroom closet.

"You always do this to me! Just shut me out and ignore me like I mean nothing to you! How can you call me your girlfriend when you shut me out every opportunity you get, Carter? Huh?" she continued ranting as I pulled off my shirt and sighed deeply.

"You'll never change. Will you? You'll always be just as cold as the weather," she said right before I snatched open the door.

I obviously caught her by surprise, seeing as though her eyes were wide as if she were a deer in headlights.

"Stop acting like a brat, and let me take my shower in peace, Roxanne," I growled.
"Okay, well, since I'm acting like such a brat, you can get the hell out of my house, Carter," she shouted as I closed the door again.

I locked it behind me before she sent another bang to the door with her hand.

I showered for about twenty minutes before drying off and wrapping a body towel around my waist. My head was clear, and I was more than relaxed; however, when I walked into the bedroom, I had a storm coming.

"Roxy, what the hell are you doing?" I sighed.
"I'm packing your shit," she replied.
"I'm not going anywhere, so just sit dow--"

"Carter, I don't even know who you are! I can't let you continue to shut me out while I'm giving you every single part of me," she faced me.

"You have to go," she whispered.
"Where am I gonna' go, Roxy?" I asked.
"I don't know. . . but it's cold outside, and if there's anything I want you to do besides find shelter is stay warm. I bought you this coat a couple weeks ago because the one you have now--"

I laughed.
"You're fucking kidding, right? You've got to be playing."

"No, Carter. I'm tired of being hurt. I'm emotionally drained. . . I love you, but I'll be damned if I let you kill me of a broken heart," she shook her head.
I sighed deeply before approaching her as she stuffed my shirts into my backpack.

"It's almost Christmas, Roxanne. We were gonna' spend it together, remember? You were gonna' make that good ass hot cocoa you make every ye--"

"Carter," she looked up but refused to look directly at me.
"This is absolutely ridiculous," I shook my head.

"You know what's even more ridiculous? Being with someone for damn near three years and not seeing them cry once. Not having them express their deepest, most sincere feelings to you since ever. Never, ever seeing the man you love become vulnerable," her eyes darted into mine, piercing into my soul.

"If you wanted a lil' bitch, you should've been dating a female. Not me," I growled.

"Fuck you cryin' for, man? She's just a girl," I looked at my friend in disgust.
"She's my everything. We were gonna' get married," he shook his head.
"Now, you know damn well that wasn't gonna' happen," I kissed my teeth.
