Prom was days away.

Genesis had asked me to prom in so many different ways that my head was spinning, but I decided that my date was going to be Mira. I felt a bit guilty for not picking Genesis, and Miracle didn't help ease my guilty conscious, but Genesis was perfectly fine with it.

At least he told me he was, but I couldn't help but notice how disheartened he sounded.

He eventually did find a date though.

Jazz.

Don't get me wrong. Genesis and Jazz had plenty of girls knocking down their doors, asking and dropping hints about prom. Jazz just decided that he'd rather go with one of his friends, which was completely understandable (after all, I was going with my friend too).

A pro of going with friends rather than "dates" was the fact that you wouldn't feel obligated to stay tied down to your date all night. You'd already be with your group of friends. . .

Genesis, according to Jazz, only wanted to go to prom with me, which is why he wouldn't say yes to anyone else. When I rejected his offer, he decided he rather go with a friend too.

Jazz did this cute little promposal to Genesis. He had a balloon, a bouquet of yellow and orange roses (roses the colors of friendship, according to Jazz) and a poster that said: It'd be an honor to go to prom with a G(enesis).

He's such a headass, I know, but what made it even better was that on the back, it said: Go to prom with the bomb with an arrow that pointed up to him.

Genesis accepted it, of course, and they shared a long laugh about how awkward it would've been if he had said no.

As for Jay, he was going with his girlfriend (which was a no-brainer).

Miracle and I planned on wearing different dresses of the same colors. We were buying each other corsages and such, and even rented a car for the night.

Prom night arrived, and I was more than excited. Miracle had done my hair and make up after doing hers and we took so many pictures that the storage of my phone became full.

Once at the venue of our prom, we hit the dancefloor. Although I was having fun, I couldn't help but keep an eye out for Genesis. After dancing for a while, we headed to the snack table because Mira had worked up an appetite.

While she debated on what she wanted, I saw Jay and his girlfriend. We all talked for a bit, but then. . . I caught sight of Genesis and Jazz walking in. They both wore tuxes with inversed colors and pinned roses on their blazers. Only a few seconds after they made it in, Genesis's eyes met mine. He smirked as I shyly waved. He nodded in greeting before saying something to Jazz. Jazz glanced in my direction, but I honestly couldn't tell if he was looking at me because he had shades on (as usual).

They began approaching Miracle and I, but before they could, Genesis was halted by a group of his friends. They were obviously hyping him up because he was smiling and nodding and motioning toward his shoes and blazer.

I can't even lie. He looked good.

Jazz resumed making his way over, and I smiled while hugging him.

"Look at you, Dapper Dan!" I grinned, admiring his black, velvet blazer.
"You know how I do," he smirked, brushing his shoulders off cockily.
"Wow, Jazz. You actually look like you've got some home trainin'," Miracle smirked.
"Is that supposed to be a compliment?" he glared at her.
"That's as good as it's gonna' get, Jazz. Take it or leave it," I giggled.
"I'll take it," he kissed his teeth.
