"What does it mean if a guy says that a gentleman never leaves his lady, but if he can't touch, he's gonna' look?" I asked.

My friends erupted with laughter.

"Nas, what the fuck?" Miracle chuckled.
"Okay, wait. Wait. . . what's the context of this? 'Cuz that can mean a lot of things," Jay chuckled.

"Genesis and I were making out and--"

"Is that why I couldn't find y'all at my party?" Jazz asked.
"It's not like we didn't show up at all. We just left early to talk," I shrugged.
"Mhm. Talk," Miracle smirked.
"Anyway," I rolled my eyes, "we almost went a little over board."

"We eventually stopped because of my curfew, and when we got to my house, he was, like, lookin' at me," I shrugged.
"Okay, and? He has eyes, Nas. That's kind of what he's supposed to do," Miracle looked around as if she was trying to find the problem that I was talking about.

"No, but. . . like, he was lookin' at me," I nodded.
"Okay. I still don't know what the problem is and--"

"Girl, he asked me, 'how can you look like a meal and expect not to get eaten?'" I finally explained.
Miracle's jaw dropped before all of my friends laughed obnoxiously, once again.

"It's not funny," I pouted.
"It's not, but we all can just imagine your reaction. Girl, I bet your eyes got wide, huh?" Jazz chuckled.
I rolled my eyes.

"Okay, so I now know what you mean when you said he was lookin' at you," Miracle giggled.
"Yeah, so. . . what does he mean by the thing I told y'all at first? The gentlemen thing and--"

"Did y'all stop your lil' makeout session because of your curfew or because you stopped him?" Jay inquired.
"I didn't really stop him. . . I mean. . . he was starting to go a little far with his hands so I stopped him on that, but other than that--"

"So, he's willing to wait until you're ready," Jay shrugged.
"Ready for what?" I asked.
"Oh my-- Sex, Nas! Sex!" Jazz nearly laughed as Miracle patted my back.
"Geez, I can't get clarification?" I defensively held up my hands.
"It's okay, Nas. It's okay," Miracle giggled, continuing to pat my back soothingly.

"So, he's willing to wait, but since he can't touch the merchandise, he should be able to look at it. That's all he's saying, Nas," Jazz shook his head with a smirk.
I simply nodded.

"Damn, Nas. I didn't know it was this bad. You got us decoding the shit he says," Jay smirked as Jazz and Mira chuckled.
"Yeah, well. . ." I didn't have much to say so I simply shrugged.

"Have you called him?" Miracle inquired.
"No, I figured that he wouldn't be awake yet," I shrugged.
"Yeah, you do have us over here mad early," Jay nodded.
"It's almost 10 a.m. He should be up," Jazz nodded.
"Yeah, and even if he's not up, he'd probably love the fact that you're the first voice he hears," Miracle smiled.

I shrugged and grabbed my phone before going into my kitchen to pace a bit.

After a few moments, he picked up, his voice raspy as he spoke.
"Look who's calling, for a change."
"Hardy-har-har, Genesis," I sarcastically laughed, making him chuckle through the line.

Gosh, can you imagine waking up to that voice in your ear?

"So, what's up? You're callin' me before I'm fully awake and shit," I envisioned the small smile on his face as he spoke.
"Early bird gets the worm," I smirked.
A brief, breathy laugh left his lips before he spoke.

"You just want me to ask you on that date already."
"Maybe," I shrugged.
"You gon' say yes this time?" he inquired.
"It depends on what it is," I replied.
