I'd gone a grueling two months without him, but I could see it paying off through more ads that featured his company and even more celebrity photoshoots. He was meeting the source of a lot of money and exposure head on by moving to Cali, and I was more than proud of him because of it.

He was coming home for about two weeks before he'd be back on the grind in California. I knew two weeks would probably fly by, but hearing him say it over the phone sounded just as good as two months.

I was more than excited that he'd be home. Distance was still kind of difficult to deal with, especially when I never truly know his schedule, but it made reuniting just as great.

I planned on putting together a special evening for his homecoming. We'd have dinner and dessert and then dessert. It seemed simple enough, but I figured he'd want something simple and real after only seeing fake glitz and glam for so long.

I pulled my hair into a bun and began cooking, deciding that this meal would be just as good as Sunday dinners. I spent a ton of time prepping for dinner, and most this "prepping" would probably just end up as decorations to the plate or garnishes to the meal. I was gonna' slave over this stove all day, if necessary. There'd be macaroni and cheese, greens, cornbread, and I was currently between steaks or ribs.

If I serve ribs, he'll probably be asleep before we even get to "dessert," but in retrospect, the meal itself is pretty hefty with or without ribs. On the other hand, seeing G eat ribs is always a fun sight. Genesis throws down on barbecue. Besides, he probably has steaks and lobster or some shit all the time.

In the midst of putting the mac and cheese in the oven, I heard the elevator open. My eyebrows furrowed at the sound as I quickly pushed the rack back and closed the oven.

I turned to face the source only to find the love of my life.

"Genesis!" I shrieked, running to him as he set his camera bag down on the floor.
He grinned as I jumped on top of him, my arms and legs wrapping around him tightly.

"What are you doing here? You weren't supposed to be here until like 7:00. Jazz was gonna' pick you up from the airp--"

He ceased my words by pressing his lips against mine. I giggled a little at the action, giving into his sweet, soft lips. He dropped the other bags he had before carrying me over to the sectional, where he laid me down and continued to kiss me passionately.

I caressed his face a bit as our lips moved in sync, working to find ways to fit together and mixmatch perfectly. Meanwhile, he was coming out of his jacket. Once that was off, he snaked his arms around my waist and changed our position to where I was straddling him. I used this opportunity to pull my lips from his and catch my breath a bit.

"Well, hello, nice to see you too," I formally greeted, making him laugh.
"Sorry for not greeting you. I just couldn't resist it, babe," he placed his hands on either sides of my face and pecked my lips again and again and again.

"It's okay. I just missed you so much. Why didn't you tell me you'd be home early?" I asked as he finally pulled away to look into my eyes.
"I couldn't wait to see you any longer, and I wanted to surprise you. You know surprises are my specialty," he smiled broadly, exposing his pearly whites.

I couldn't help but mirror his expression; his smile was so contagious. "I'm glad you're here and you're safe and you look healthy and you're doing well. . . I'm so glad to see you prosper-- to see us prosper. . . to call you mine," I shook my head, a stupid smile stuck on my face as I did so.
"Likewise, baby," he pecked my lips and stared at my face for a while.
