Bill Nye, free from BloodClan 2.0, is padding through the forest when a strikingly yellow tom approaches him.

Bill Nye: Hello there! I'm Bill Nye. May I learn about your Clan? *tips his head curiously.*

Sourfur: Hello Bill Nye. My name is Sourfur. I bet you thought I was from UrineClan or something. *laughs.*

Bill Nye: No... no I didn't...

Sourfur: Would you like to come visit TasteClan with me? *smiles.*

Bill Nye: Sure!

Sourfur: *as they're walking.* Sourness is the kind of taste that detects the acidity level of what's being eaten. The most common food group with sours foods is fruit, like grapes, lemons, oranges, and sometimes even melons!

Bill Nye: *as they enter camp.* How fascinating... why can we even detect sour foods?

Sourfur: Because we wouldn't want to eat pure acid, would we? *laughs.*

Acidnose: I like acid. *trips over Sourfur's tail.*

Sourfur: *frowns slightly.* Anyways, why don't you talk to Saltfrost? He's an expert on salty foods!

Saltfrost: *pops his head out of the warrior den.* Did I hear my name?

Sourfur: Talk to this Bill Nye fellow... he likes to learn about things, and you like to talk.

Saltfrost: Okay! Saltiness is the kind of taste that detects the presence of sodium chloride, commonly called table salt! Fun fact—the receptor that detects sodium chloride is the simplest in the whole mouth!

Bill Nye: Wow, how fascinating...

Saltfrost: Lithium and potassium ions also are detected by the receptor, because they're the same size as sodium ions. Rubidium and cesium ions are also detected, but they're different sizes so their salty taste is different.

Bill Nye: This is so interesting! Do you have any other types of tastes?

Bitterfeather: *sighs bitterly.* Yeah, I guess... Bitterness is the most sensitive of all the tastes. Common bitter foods include coffee, cocoa, olives, and ethanol in alcoholic beverages.

Bill Nye: Wow, I wonder why bitterness is the most sensitive...

Bitterfeather: Many toxic compounds are bitter, which is why it's important to be able to taste it.

Bill Nye: Wow! Thank you, everyone, for sharing your... interesting tastes in facts. I have to go, though, but thank you for sharing.

Sweetshine: Bye!

Umaminose: *whispers.* Why does everyone forget me?
