We became everything,
We promised not to be.
It happened in a swing,
Too fast for even one to see.
I don't know you now,
Where have you been ?
I still can't understand how,
Our love became a sin.
All we have left,
Our silenced words.
Carving a hole in my chest,
Leaving me bereft of verbs.
I was lost in your eyes,
And the promise that it gave.
Unsure if one day I'd rise,
And leave this god-forsaken grave.
You promised,
Or was it all just in my head ?
