Chapter 14

Daeryon looked at his grandson's angry countenance.
"What happened ,you said Alexi was in danger?"
"Ow she was in danger alright. I don't know off me or herself."Xander sneered.

"What do you mean? I thought Dracula is the culprit?".asked Raxyna.
"I am not sure. All I know is that had I arrived a second too late she would've become a blood paste flapjack ."he pulled at his hair. In haling harshly as if the sight caused him pain. He paced the floor up and down tugging at his hair.
"You mean....?".Raxyna tried to guess but could not let the words out.
"Yes. As soon as she woke up ,probably after finding out I was her 'mate' she jumped from my bedroom balcony window! That is FUCKING THREE STORIES HIGH !!".He growled his teeth bared. He calmed down.
"She was unconscious by the time I caught her. I knew someone powerful was nearby but I had to put Alex to safety. But by the time I reached the tree line his trace disappeared. Teleported elsewhere. I don't think ,no matter how much Alex  hates me, she would never commit suicide. Her parents are important to her and she knows I will kill them if she gets hurt or dies. But still,there is Joey and dare I say it even Jonathan and mom and dad. She may hate me but she loves everyone else . So no she did not jump. Which means she was manipulated . But she cannot be compelled. Unless Dracula has super compelling abilities. If not I don't know. "he sighed.
"How do you know she cannot be compelled?".grandma asked.

He stopped pacing and smirked a little" .I tried to compel her to kiss me once upon a time".he smirked widened at his grandmother's gasp.
He paced and paced. Then sat down ruffled his hair. Then stood up and paced the floor again his hands scratching and twitching like a person on drugs having a withdrawal.
Daeryon smirked. He shouldn't be happy at his grandson's demise. But he couldn't help his troubled mind all because of his mate.
"You know,I know that being separated from your mate tends to cause mental instability,irritation and nervousness . And blood lust and even sexual frustration  . "Raxyna murmured the last part. Xander cast her a mean glare then continued with his pacing.
'Any minute now ' he  thought as he paced for the past three hours.
He looked at the old cuckoo clock in the wall. Two am . Perfect.
"I am leaving"he announced.
Daeryon smirked.
"Going to Alex?".He asked.
"Yes. At this time of the day she is asleep. So I go to calm my nerves so that I do not tear her apart limp from limp when I see her again."he explained darkly.

"Can we meet her?".Raxyna asked hopefully.
"I have never teleported more than two people . But whatever 
Lets go."he took both their hands and teleported to his room. He found Alex sleeping unpeacefully tossing and turning . Then as if sensing his presence Alex started waking up .
Then he ran to the bed super speed straddling her in between his knees as she was about to scream because she thought someone was trying to rape her ,a hand clamped down on her mouth . She trashed underneath him . His grandma looked at the two with worry. Daeryon was just watching sceptically.

"Shsh!......shsh! Princess . We do not want anyone to hear us now do we?".he asked sickly sweetly.
Now Daeryon raised a brow.
Xander checked her neck. And saw his name in silver and gold writing on her neck along with a bond mark. It was strange. It had the Jacqui and old Dracula's crest. He furrowed his eyebrows. Did Dracula mark? Didn't he have a mate already? All these questions made him go absolutely still. Alex furrowed her brows at what he was doing. Then recognising Alex was on top her in a compromising position she blushed to the roots of her hair and neck making the blood smell . But what was more embarrassing was she was menstruating. 'What bad timing'she thought.
Xander caught the scent of blood and got off her quickly as his fangs extended. She  shrieked and pulled the covers over her head and hugged her knees to her chest. Shaking in fear. Daeryon and Raxyna were astonished. Her scent was strong but could not make them lose control. For thousands of years they converted to drinking animal blood.
They were scared however . Will Xander control himself.
A sob escaped Alex and Xander felt something stir in him. Then he took deep breaths and changed back to normal human. As normal as he could get.
Then he sat on his bed near Alex and took hold of the blanket softly tugging it away from Alex. She couldn't beat his strength.
When he saw her tear shed face
He asked.
"What happened. I smell blood?".he asked softly.
Her eyes widened in panic and fright. Her breath hitched. She looked down biting down on her lip.
Xander furrowed his eyebrows.
"Alex..."he warned.
