Chapter 15

Alex and Xander reached the living room where all the elders were seated.
She stood at a whole feet from Xander. They sat on a love seat but Alex maintained the feet distance,causing  Xander to roll his eyes.

"I won't bite you,well not now ".he said.

She looked at him ,then narrowed her eyes folding her hands.
"You won't dare".she raised her chin. Bad idea cause that made the mate bond more visible.

They all including Xander awed at it. But also grew cautious.
It also had the mark of Dracula.

"So....."Alex clapped her hands at the awkward silence and said",You are all vampires?".she squeaked at a higher octave.

"Yes". They nodded.
She nodded slowly.
"I am guessing you consume blood".She said.

They nodded.
"Animal blood".his grandparents elaborated.
"We take both. But we prefer buying blood from blood banks".his parents said.

She nodded then looked at Xander.
"What?".he asked.
Then smiled a wide tooth smile exposing his impressive top and bottom fangs
".I prefer my meals alive,kicking and screaming. But so far your blood is my favorite. And I will steal it. Little by little".he lowered his voice.
"Of course you'd chose the narcissistic side of things". She said.

She unconsciously put her hands on her neck .
"Maltabella and her husband won't let you".
He narrowed his eyes at her. Still smiling but his eyes told a different story .

"Allow me".he took her hand softly and kissed her knuckle twice.
Then he spit in his hand and showed her red.
"See. Easy peezy lemon squeezy. I have been doing this for a while now. And you never
Ever suspected I was a vampire."he said smugly.

"No ,I just thought you were a devil worshipper with how much pride you ooze all the time. I am sure you probably think humans are weak ,pathetic and stupid and should bow to you and you be the ultimate ruler of the world."she snided.

It was a a joke. But sadly it was his reality. She realised.

"Wait.."she moved towards him",That is why you always..."she moved closer and pointed a finger to him and said",You always hated me and the fact that I was an Heir. You saw me as an insignificant pest whom you were blackmailed to protect".

"Yes. That is true".he smiled wistfully.

Then she looked at his parents with the same angry glare
",You two lied to me. You do want an heir from after all. Which means I was going to be an heir even if I had denied your offer. Which begs the question. How did you know?".she asked.

They gasped when Xander looked at them curiously.
"Yes ,how did you know. Because people don't just make human strangers their heir."he sneered.

'I told them . My husband compelled them to think that a prophet from a prophesy said so.'

Maltabella's voice rang in her head. She saw the husband and wife look confused.
"A prophesy said so?".Elizabeth answered ,more like asked.

"You were compelled to believe that a prophet told you as such. Maltabella's husband compelled you both to think so." She said unconsciously .

Xander looked at her with renewed fear.
He tentatively moved closer to Alex and dropped his voice an octave as he held her captive with an arm around her waist.
Her fear for him returned.

For some reason it caused a bitterness in his soul. He scolded his features.
Smiling to her,her eyes only focused on his red eyes transfixed.

"Princess Alex. Do you know who Maltabella is?".with such tenderness ,Alex nearly swooned at the toe curling tone. His family's jaw was dropped to the floor. They could not believe their fangs. Xander smiling so earnestly  .
