Alec's POV

I was walking to Magnus' house. We had barely seen each other. All week my father has made sure I've had so much work that I couldn't finish and couldn't see him. I honestly was dying without him. We had only know each other for a short amount of time but I missed him so much.

I was walking and heard shuffling behind me. I kept walking, being cautious to listen to every sound. No mundanes were around since it was almost three in the morning. I know Magnus hated being woken up but I was going insane without me and I was hoping he felt the same.

"Hello there young Nephilim. Didn't anyone tell you it's dangerous to walk alone?" A voice cooed. She had long black hair and purple eyes. I wasn't sure but I guessed she was a warlock because of her slit pupils, they looked reptilian.

"I am perfectly fine taking care of myself" I said.

"Are you? So many things you don't see. Why don't I walk you to your destination? I have time, I'm also heading somewhere in Brooklyn" she said. There was a tone to her voice, I knew what it was but I couldn't place it.

"I'm good. I can walk alone" I told her.

"Dangerous things lurk in the night. You never know, I heard there were some very dangerous demons here."

"I'll be fine" I assured her, getting annoyed that she was keeping me from Magnus.

"Fine. I'm scared and you are a very capable of handling yourself but I am afraid, and can barely find something to eat here. I'm not old and have only been here for a short while, I don't have anywhere to go" she admitted.

"Where are you going?" I asked. I didn't trust her, not in the least but I also couldn't just blow her off.

"To the High Warlock of Brooklyn. I was hoping he could help me" she said.

"I have business with him, so we'll be going to the same place" I informed her. Yeah, a long overdue kiss and reruns of some mundane show he liked.

"Oh". She seemed surprised. And disappointed? What was going on?

I kept my hand on the hilt of my blade but we continued to walk to Magnus' house. The closer we got the more anxious I was. What if I was bringing a killer into his house? What if she was here to kill both of us?

We were here. I knocked on the door. Silence. I knocked again. Silence. I knocked one more time, prepared to leave when the door opened.

"Who dares to disturb the High Warlock's slumber?" Magnus roared.

"I was coming to see you about what we talked about earlier" I said, not wanting to let whoever that was know about us.

"Oh hey," he said as his eyes drifted over to the person beside me. "Go away"

"Please. You must talk at some point" she insisted, her entire demeanor changing.

"I will not and you will leave. Now" Magnus demanded.

"Your father says hi" she said and then walked off, disappeared into the night.

"Are you okay?" He asked, frantically patting me down for signs of injury.

"I'm perfectly fine, well physically anyway. All of this work has thrown off my sense of danger. I should've known something was wrong." I told him.

"Good" he said and pulled me into his flat. He grabbed my hips and pulled me into a heated kiss.

Our hands searched the other's body. We were completely in tune with the other. I ran my fingers through his silky hair and he tugged aggressively at my bottom lip. We stumbled to his couch, not breaking the kiss.
