Something New

Chapter 6

Taehyung escaped.

He escaped from his alpha and the other alpha helped him again.

Taehyung knew that Jungkook was looking at him,  knew that the alpha intentionally did what he did to help Taehyung, to protect Taehyung.

The alpha had already helped him twice. Had looked out for him.

The omega liked it.

It was new.

New to develop a feeling of trust for an alpha, to feel protected and grateful because of an alpha.

This alpha, Jungkook was really different from the other alphas in his pack. He had never met an alpha liked this.

Taehyung found himself back to the waterfall. It had become a place for his solace, a place to think and over thinking and a place to meet Jungkook.

"I knew you would be here." Jungkook said as he sat beside Taehyung. He was huffing as if he ran to reach here. Maybe he did.

"And I knew you would come looking for me here." Taehyung didn't know from where he got that confidence but again with Jungkook he experienced new things everytime, so he wasn't surprised.

The alpha didn't respond. 

They sat shoulder to shoulder in silence.

Only the sound of the waterfall and the night breeze could be heard. This place was a little far from the pack. However one could still hear the muffled sounds from there if one concentrates enough.

Everyone around Taehyung was happy. Why not they be anyway? It's festival time. Taehyung liked festivals too. But his uncaring, unloving, stone hearted, insensitive husband ruined it for him.

No no Taehyung, he is still your mate. Don't think like that. Taehyung's mind rebuked.

It wasn't like Taehyung didn't live his mate. He did. In the beginning of their relationship, he was one whipped man. Jiyong was never affectionate openly but he was still caring and respectful. Taehyung thought he would win his heart and gain his love. He would do anything and everything for him.

But then time changed and so did people. Jiyong wasn't not as caring and respectful as he used to be and Taehyung wasn't as whipped.

Taehyung woke up from his naive childish dream of a loving mate and realized that it was all a dream.

"Stop sighing. You are sighing from that time." Jungkook said, his head turned towards the omega.

Taehyung too looked at Jungkook, holding the eye contact but not speaking a single word.

"Won't you tell me why you were so scared?" Jungkook questioned.

"Thank you alpha. You helped me again."

"Don't thank me also it's not the answer to my question."

"Nothing alpha. I'm fine." Taehyung reassured. " But are you okay? You bumped with my alpha. Are you hurt? " He added.

Jungkook was silent for a while staring intently at Taehyung. The omega was shining in the moonlight. The cool wind blew his hair over his face in a way that made him look heavenly.

Jungkook found it irresistible to look away from him. Taehyung was beautiful. Very very beautiful.

"What. Say something"

"Stop calling me alpha. Call me by my name."

"Seems like we both are same. We both don't respond to each other questions." Taehyung chuckled. 

" Then we should change it." Jungkook too can't help but smile.

Jungkook thought the omega was pretty, his giggles were music to ears and Taehyung thought the same. Jungkook's smile was adorable.

"I'm fine." said Jungkook

"huh?"

" I responded to your question. I'm fine. Now you respond to mine. "

" I..alpha"

"Jungkook. Call me Jungkook."

Taehyung sighed.

"Jungkook, it's just I had an argument with my alpha."

"and so you were so scared? Are you sure it has nothing do with the finger prints on your cheeks or on your neck or on your wrist?"

Taehyung was conflicted whether he could tell the reason to this alpha or not. But this alpha was so different. So calm. So gentle. So caring. Maybe he could. Also it wasn't like the alpha couldn't guess how he got those finger marks on his body.

"My alpha... " Taehyung didn't feel like calling him that anymore. Jiyong wasn't deserving of that.

"Jiyong was never violent. Yes we always have arguments but he never raised his hands on me before. I don't know what changed this time.

It started as usual. But then he started talking about breeding me, getting me pregnant. I don't know. His words too were somewhat harsh. He scared me. 

I wanted to change the topic so I said let's talk about it later. He got mad and started yelling and I too got angry and shouted.

Then this happened. You know just those talks about being respectful and not talking back or yell at an alpha. To know my position. That's all."

"That's all? Do something more needs to happen? He hit you." Jungkook was enraged.

"He is my alpha. What can I do?"

"He is your alpha so what? Do not defend him. Does being your alpha justifies the way he treats you? throws insults at you? hit you? It doesn't."

Yes yes it doesn't. No matter what's his rank, no one should be treated like this. Taehyung thought.
