Happy Together ~The Turtles

-------------------------------------------

Gerard's P.O.V.:

8:00. I got up as Copper slept in.

Still wearing sweat pants and a tee shirt, I grabbed some nice smelling shampoo, conditioner, soap, Cologne, deodorant; hair spray, a comb; a suite jacket, black skinny jeans; an acoustic guitar; and the ring in a box and put it in a large bag.

I slipped on converse and put the stuff in the passenger seat of the car.

I went back inside and put down a note I printed out last night.

It said,

"My love.

Dress as your beautiful self,

Smile that sparkling smile,

and meet me by the water,

at 7:00 tonight.

And remember,

There's only 1 thing,

2 do,

3 words,

4 you.

I love you." On pink paper.

I then jumped in the car and drove down to the studio.

I got inside and took my song from the locker.

I printed the whole song on red paper then put it back in the binder, taking it with my to the car.

I put it in a safe spot then drove over to Frank's.

"Hey Gerard." Frank greeted me after I knocked on the door.

"Hey Frank."

"Come inside," I walked in, "You really got to dress up if you're going to propose to that girl."

"I know. That's why I was hoping I could get ready here."

"Yeah man," I smiled, "You know where the bathroom is."

I nodded and brought what I needed up there.

I took a long shower then freshened up before changing in to the clothes I brought.

I straightened my jacket and stepped out the door.

"A little casual to propose to her, don't you think? I mean, you have a suite jacket and you're clean, but skinny jeans and converse?" He asked from his place on the couch.

"I told her to dress casual. I want us to look like our selves, so I can marry her as she is."

"Oh. Romantic."

"Yeah." I chuckled. "Well thanks man, I got the rest."

"Alright. Tell me how it goes."

I grabbed the stuff and went out to the car for my next stop.

I checked the time. Noon.

Perfect.

"Hey Mikes, can you take Ima now? I want Copper to relax before she gets ready." I texted Mikey.

"Yeah sure." He replied.

"Thanks." I replied before slipping the phone in my pocket.

I drove off to a small rose shop a few miles away.

I bought a red rose, and four  bouquets then set off to the river.

12:54. Good.

I pulled up to the curve then walked almost a quarter of mile of grass before being at a big oak tree by the river.
