A/N: So like I said before I'd be making a note at the beginning of chapters for things that are gonna be different from the series, in my book. In this case, we're gonna have a Winter Ball which is basically the Yule ball but no Triwizard tournament just the ball because I want there to be that sort of event. So yea, enjoy :)

(edited)

It was time for Draco and Amelia to leave for Hogwarts. They hadn't spoken since their fight last week. Draco had tried to spark conversations but Amelia never reciprocated. Despite his failed efforts, Draco was determined on getting something out of his cousin once they arrived at King's Cross Station.

He did still feel terribly bad for her. Bellatrix hadn't been around since that night with the death eaters and Voldemort. Pushing that thought aside, Draco tramped down the stairs with his luggage in hand and surprisingly he saw his mother with Bellatrix standing by the front door.

"Well hurry on now! You're both going to be late!" Bellatrix called out to Draco. That was when he had noticed Amelia next to Narcissa, she so much as spare a glance at the platinum-haired boy.

All Draco thought was about the nerve his cousin had. He started to feel less sympathy for Amelia. He came to the conclusion that their fight was entirely her fault anyway and she still refused to say a word to him.

Draco returned the cold shoulder to Amelia and went to say goodbye to his mother.

Amelia turned to her mother as Bellatrix excitedly exclaimed, "Good luck my little monster! Make mummy and the Dark Lord proud dear!" Bellatrix continued to giggle as she pulled her daughter into an embrace.

That morning was the first time Amelia had seen her since the night she became a death eater, so naturally, Lia took advantage of every second with her. She wasn't going to see her for a while after all.

"Thank you mother, I will!" Amelia smiled and the two exchanged kisses on the other's cheek.

Bella held her daughter's shoulder and her tone changed to more annoyed as she said, "Now remember that ghastly school is full of blood traitors and manipulators. You, my darling, are much better than them, don't forget that. I wouldn't be sending you there but that is where your duty lies so remember to never lose sight of that!" Amelia replied with a tight-lipped smile and nod.

As the two pulled away but Bella moved her hand to grasp her daughter's left arm firmly. She rolled up Amelia's sleeve and ran her fingers delicately across the dark mark that laid there. Her expression turned slightly more serious, "If you succeed, your efforts will not go unnoticed and you will bring such pride and value to our name." She was serious now and almost sounded like she was begging her daughter. Amelia nodded understandingly and proudly. She was too far in and she wasn't going to let her family down.

The two children finished their goodbyes to their mothers and left for the station.

The cousins arrived at King's Cross, and as they walked to Platform 9 3/4, Draco, involuntarily, started up the much-needed conversation.

"I'm sorry Amelia... about last week. I don't care if you're better than me and I don't care if I can't control you or any of that." He sighed, "I didn't know you actually wanted this so bad... and I just want to look out for you."

Amelia thought he sounded sincere and remorseful so, she replied, "That's alright Malfoy, I guess I did blow it a little out of proportion..." She paused, "I'm used to people not caring for me so, I'm sorry too." And for the first time since she was a child, Amelia was genuine with her apology.

The pair hugged and proceeded to talk about whatever they had missed in the past week.

Draco has also told her some information about Hogwarts, things like Hogsmeade, the Winter ball, faster ways to get from class to class, all that type of stuff.

She was nervous, to say the least, but she wasn't going to let that show. This was going to be her first time going to school with a real friend and well magic, of course.

The pair boarded the Hogwarts express and Draco introduced Amelia to his friends, Pansy Parkinson and Blaise Zabini, and Theodore Nott. Amelia immediately found Blaise attractive, but she didn't care to make any advancements despite his inviting stares.

The group arrived to Hogwarts and Amelia was told to follow the first years to get sorted.

She felt weird, of course, being surrounded by innocent and weak kids. She stuck to the back of the small children, trying to make her presence seem less inviting, seeing as a bunch of eleven year-olds made people seem more approachable.

Amelia felt a few pairs of eyes looking at her, and that was when she scanned the room and seemingly caught the attention of a boy with dark brown hair and bright green eyes looking directly back at her. He was seated at the Gryffindor table, and while locked in a staring contest with Amelia, he ran his fingers through his hair and moved it just enough for her to catch a glimpse of his scar.

That was Harry James Potter. Just then the girl hatched an idea. Harry softly waved at her so she returned the acknowledgment with a wink. Her smirk growing on her face at his face turned a deep red.

When Bellatrix and her daughter had a few moments alone the morning that Amelia became a death eater, Bella had told her that she should get close to Harry and his friends so that Lia could figure out what their plans were. To offer something that Draco couldn't, he burned his bridge with the Golden Trio in the first year.

That was when Amelia heard her name being called.

"Amelia Lestrange," a tall and older woman spoke. The room went quiet at the mention of her last name and Lia couldn't help but feel empowered more than ever. "Ah, our new student, 6th year. Welcome!" Amelia approached the chair and sorting hat with a cocky smile on my face. She sat down and the hat began moving, it startled her but she brushed it off.

"Interesting... fearless AND cautious..." Amelia scoffed at the hat's comments. "Confident and impulsive but very attentive a quick problem solver... SLYTHERIN!" The hat announced her house and cheers erupted from the Slytherin table.

Amelia got up with her head up high and a smirk plastered on her face as she walked over, taking her seat next to Draco and his friends.

Near the end of the feast, Amelia looked up, and sitting directly in front of her at the table over, she was met with an intent stare from the green-eyed Gryffindor boy. He nodded and smiled sheepishly. She let out a fake, but small giggle and winked at him yet again. He chuckled in response.

Amelia couldn't help but internally laugh at what she was doing in hopes of getting closer to the Golden Trio. Blaise took quick notice of the girl's actions and wasn't very pleased with her flirtatious engagements. He slung his arm over her shoulders protectively and pulled her closer to him while giving Potter a death glare.

"Blaise! Will you shove off? I'm trying to work on something here." Amelia looked at him annoyed.

Blaise snorted in response, "Not with Potter, you're not."
