Because the promotional live stream for the game "Star Path" had brought considerable attention to Michelle Xia, Alyssa easily secured a top spot on the homepage recommendations, much to the chagrin of Lulu. Every time Lulu saw Alyssa, she'd roll her eyes in evident displeasure.

Lulu didn't hide her annoyance with Alyssa, but Alyssa didn't seem bothered in the least.

In fact, Alyssa was quite pleased whenever she saw Lulu upset.

Unable to contain her glee, Alyssa reached out to share the news with Michelle.

Alyssa texted, "I bet Lulu's regretting trying to push you down now. Serves her right!"

Michelle, engrossed in her writing, didn't respond immediately.

After waiting for a while, Alyssa sent another message, "Michelle, should we meet up?"

As Michelle finished her article, she recalled the favor Brandon Su had asked of her. While responding to Alyssa, she took the opportunity to speak on Brandon's behalf.

Michelle replied, "Sure, but it has to be before the winter break. Otherwise, I'll be too busy when the kids are off from school. By the way, Brandon asked if you could possibly remove him from your blacklist."

The mere mention of Brandon's name made Alyssa lose her enthusiasm for the meetup.

Alyssa shot back, "He'll be on my blacklist for life. Don't even think about it."

Michelle, taken aback, texted, "Did Brandon do something terrible to you, like deceive you or exploit you in some way?"

Alyssa paused to think. Actually, Brandon hadn't really wronged her unless you counted him ghosting her two years ago and not replying to her messages.

Alyssa responded, "Not really. Maybe I should take him off the blacklist? What do you think? Maybe for ten minutes?"

Michelle, at a loss for words, replied, "I tried my best to vouch for him."

After chatting for a bit, Alyssa had to attend to her work—a senior editor wanted to discuss something with her.

The senior editor, Damien, and Alyssa had been colleagues for a long time. Their working relationship was quite comfortable, with Damien being straightforward in his conversations with Alyssa.

He first addressed Alyssa's habitual tardiness. In all the time Alyssa had worked there, she hadn't managed a single day without being late. If she was only five minutes late, that was considered a good day. The amount deducted from Alyssa's pay for tardiness had already reached a four-digit sum.

While Alyssa was good-natured about accepting criticism, it was clear she had no intentions of mending her ways. Damien, knowing her nature all too well, couldn't help but sigh.

After discussing the issue of tardiness, Damien shared some news: A comic platform was interested in purchasing the rights to Michelle Xia's novel. The copyright editor was in talks regarding the price.

In fact, multiple platforms had inquired about acquiring the rights to Michelle's work. The sale was almost a done deal, and after careful consideration, they had settled on one particular platform.

The two platforms were still haggling over the price, with the copyright editor unwilling to budge. Once they'd reached an agreement on the price, Alyssa would be informed, and she'd pass the news on to Michelle Xia.

Upon hearing that Michelle Xia might sell the rights to her comics, Alyssa couldn't help but exclaim internally, thinking how impressive Michelle truly was!

She'd always had an eye for talent and knew Michelle would be a gem.

However, since the price hadn't been settled yet, the possibility of the deal falling through was still on the table. Damien advised Alyssa to keep the news under wraps for now.
