Chapter 15

Ainsley POV:

I woke up the next morning by my alarm clock and ran out the door, I jumped into my car and headed to school.

I was grabbed my usual coffee at Embers and continued on my route to school. I was approaching a stop light when I went to hit the brakes and they wouldn't work. The light had just turned red and I was going to be the first one to the light. I knew i was gonna go right through the light so i started honking trying to give other drivers a warning...

But, apparently one driver didn't head my warning because as I was going through the light I heard a bang into my driver door and that is the last thing I remember.

I woke up to beeping noises in the hospital. Keaton was there by my side holding my hand. My parents were sitting on the other side of the room.

"Where am I?" I asked in a sleepy groggy voice.

Keaton and my parents jumped up. "Ains, honey, are you okay? You are in the hospital, but everything is going to be okay now." Keaton said.

"I'm in the hospital?" I asked. "But why? What happened to me?"

"Honey, you were in a serious car accident. Let me go get Dr. Hudson so she can explain your condition to you." My mother said.

The doctors had said I am temporarily paralyzed from the waist down and that I had broken 3 ribs, my right arm and fractured my wrist and that I was in a coma for 6 days. They said my legs should begin working again in 12-15 weeks.

My. Life. Was. Over. How was i supposed to play softball? Keaton wouldn't want a girl who couldn't walk. I had scratches all over my face. I wasn't pretty anymore. Keat could certainly do better.

A couple of days later I was released from the hospital, Keaton drove me home and helped me to my bedroom by carrying me since I couldn't walk. my parents had ordered a stair elevator but, it hadn't arrived yet so we made due with what we had.

He sat me on my bed and laid next to me.

"Thank you." I whispered to him.

"For what?" He asked.

"For being there with me and doing all this for me." I answered. "You didn't have to do that."

"Ains of course I had to do that. I love you and you're my girlfriend." He responded.

"Keat, you could do better, I don't deserve you. Why would want a crippled girl. I mean, look at me I have scratches and scares. I can't even walk." I said starting to have tears in my eyes.

He pulled me close to him. "Ains, those scratches and scares are there to show how brave you are. You are so beautiful inside and out. I love you and I am not going to leave you, we will get through this together." He said.

He kissed me so softly and pulled me close to him once more.

"I love you too Keaton." I whispered into his chest. He kissed my hairline.

Finally I was able to go back to school again. I was in a wheelchair. This would be the first time I was in a crowd of people in my wheelchair.

Keaton picked me up and helped me into the car. He was really supportive of me over the last couple of weeks. He was there when I needed him and he helped me through a lot of things including the affects of the medicine I had to have.

"I am kind of scared to go back to school." I confessed to him.

"Don't worry you're going to be fine. I am done with all my classes so I can make sure you get to your on time and help you get there." He stated trying to cheer me up.

"I don't want to be a burden on you Baby." I said.

"Ainsley, Babe, if anything this whole situation has made our relationship stronger." He responded.

I just answered with. "I love you too."

There was only 2 weeks left until graduation and 3 weeks left of my junior year. I couldn't believe it. Keaton would be done in 2 weeks. Then all we would have is summer together and then he would be gone.

We reached the school parking lot and he lead us to the front of the parking lot close to the school doors where there was spot there with the name Ainsley Morris Reserved on it.

"Why does this spot have my name on it?" I asked.

"Because you deserve it Ains. Just wait and see." He said.

He helped me into my wheelchair and we walked in to school. Once inside the school he lead me into the gym. The whole school was in there with signs that said "Welcome back Ainsley." I was in tears.

Jess, Maya, and Lola were right inside the door.

"Ains, how are you feeling." Lola asked. She, Jess and Maya all visited me while I was at home.

"I feel good, I can't believe the whole school is here." I answered.

"Keat did you know about this?" I asked.

He just nodded with that sexy smirk he always has on.

Keaton pushed me up toward the principal and handed me a microphone.

"Thank you guys so much for this. It really does mean the world to me. I also want to thank my friends, Maya, Lola, and Jess, my parents and family, and the one man who was literally there through it all, my best friend and the best boyfriend I could ever ask for Keaton Colt. Thank you guys again and enjoy that cake over there!" I said pointing to the cake.

I turned to Keaton. "I love you. Thank you for all this."

"Baby you're welcome and I love you, I am just glad you are alright."

The next couple weeks went fast. Keaton graduated and summer came. Because of the accident I can't play softball but I plan on going to watch some of the games. But, my main focus for the summer is Keaton, I want to spend as much time as I can with him before he goes off to college.

A/N: So this is a very scrambled chapter... I am actually not sue if it is even any good. Please let me know if you guys think I should rewrite it. I am literally in writers block mode and this chapter kind of felt forced out. Idk....
