Valeriana's pov

After finishing lunch my dad and papà dropped me off at the garage. They said they will bring my other car here later. I switched to my Corvette Z06. I had many cars ranging from corvettes, McLarens, ferraris, Lamborghinis. A few had a certain logo on the side, hood of the car or on the bumper. It's my own logo for racing. Everyone in the underworld knew of my logo and name. I went by Valer. It sounded cool. Not to brag or anything but I was a big deal among the racers. I had many races lined up because lots of people wanted to race against me. They never won but the smiles they had when losing made my day. They didn't care if they lost, just racing against me made their days.

After parking in the driveway I get out of my car and head inside. The only ones in the living room were Valerico and Valentino and a girl around our age. She had black hair that was wavy and ended around her shoulders. Her eyes were a dark brown. She had a nice jawline and cheekbones. There was a tattoo peeking out of her shirt going up the side of her neck. Damn, on top of her being absolutely beautiful she had tattoos, a weakness of mine.

"How's your day going?" Valerico asked when he noticed me.

"Good," I muttered before heading towards the stairs. I was blocked off by Aurelio once again. I let out a huff before turning around. I head towards the door.

"Where are you going now?" Valentino asked.

"I forgot my things in my car," I state.

"Get them later. Take a seat, we need to talk," Aurelio says. I look at him. He was pointing to the couch. My eyes go to the empty seat next to my brother's friend.

"Can't I stand?" I asked before looking at him.

"No, sit," he demands. I slowly walk over to the couch before sitting down. I made sure there was enough room so the girl wouldn't accidentally brush my arm or leg. I didn't like it when strangers touched me.

"I'm sitting," I say. Aurelio gives me a look.

"I can see that," he says. I look at my brothers with a raised eyebrow. They smirk at me while shaking their heads.

"Then talk. Sadly I don't have all day."

"You start school tomorrow. Your brothers will show you around. I expect you to be ready by seven thirty, no later than that. Try not to slack off in classes. Good grades are not required but are appreciated. Nazario, Santino and myself will not always be here. Usually one of us is here but on rare occasions all of us can be gone at the same time. Matteo, Valerico, and Valentino will be here if that is the case. I think I covered most of the important things," Aurelio says.

"Seems like a conversation we could have had with me standing," I mumble under my breath. The girl next to me and my two brothers laughed. Aurelio looked at me. I give him a smile. "Was that all?"

"If you have boys over, the door has to stay open," Valerico says.

"Trust us. The opposite gender rule is bullshit. Definitely can't have alone time with a female in this house," Valentino scoffed. I look at him.

"Dude, that's the whole point," I mutter while shaking my head. I stood up. "Trust me I'm more than fine with that rule," I state with a smile.

"Why?" Valerico and Valentino asked. I smirk at them.

"Not the opposite gender you should be worried about," I say with a smirk while patting Aurelio's back before I leave the house. I grab all my bags before going back inside. Aurelio was still standing in his spot blinking before he nodded his head. I chuckle before jogging up the stairs.

This evening I was planning on joining my brothers for dinner. I was hungry and knew they were about to have dinner. It was like clock work with these guys. I walked away from the stairs as Santino walked into the house.

"Aye, whose car is that out front?" He asked. I hear my brothers rush out of the kitchen. They all rush outside. Being nosey I follow them. When I step outside I don't see anything unordinary.

"What are we looking at?" I asked. They all look at me. They point to my car. It was a deep red but at certain angles it looked black. "Oh, yeah that's mine," I say before walking back inside. I head to the kitchen.

"Woah."

"What do you mean that's yours?" Matteo asked.

"How can you afford a fucking corvette?" Valentino asked. When I get into the kitchen with my siblings following I see the girl from earlier. She was scrolling through her phone. She looked up when she heard the stampede of boys.

"Did you buy it or was it a gift from mom?" Santino asked. My jaw clenched. The girl raised an eyebrow when she saw my reaction.

"I bought it," I say before grabbing a plate. I slide a piece of pizza onto it. I turn around. They all stare at me with their mouths open.

"Then whose car was the one you had before?" Nazario asked. I take a bite of my pizza.

"Also mine. What's with the dumb questions?" I asked. I sit in an empty chair.

"Well, for someone who is 17. Owning two expensive cars. It's hard to believe. Are you sure mom didn't buy you them?" Aurelio asked. I shook my head.

"She didn't buy shit," I grumble. My hand clenched under the table. They all make their plates before joining me at the table.

"How was it living with her?" Aurelio asked. Eyes fell onto me as they waited for an answer. I look at my pizza.

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you," I say.

"Try us. The woman was overly affectionate; it was hard to do things on your own without her being your shadow," Nazario says.

"I don't feel like discussing this at the moment," I mutter before eating the rest of my pizza.

"I'm going to head out, guys. I'll catch you at school tomorrow," the girl says before leaving. Was she Valerico or Valentino's girlfriend or just their friend?

"What's that on your arm?" Matteo asked. My eyes snap down to my arm. My heart started to race. It was a scar down the whole length of my forearm. It came from our mother. I refused to sleep with this guy she brought home and she cut me then slept with the dude herself as I bled out on the floor.

"A scar," I say while moving my arm under the table.

"Did you do that?" Matteo asked. The others hit him.

"If I was a cutter, Matteo, I wouldn't be here," I responded. His eyebrows furrowed.

"What do you mean?" he asked.

"I wouldn't miss an important vein," I state. I purse my lips before sighing. "I didn't do this. I'm an honest person so I won't even bother lying. Since it's just us, I'll tell you. Our mother did it," I state. They stare at me for a long time. "She wasn't how you remember her. The total opposite. So the memories you have with the woman are completely different from mine," I say before standing up and taking care of my plate before leaving the room.
