in which you and colby are married and do christmas stuff with your kid!! (layla was the fist name that popped in my head sooo 🤷🏽♀️)
also this was way hard to write and it took forever and i kinda don't like it 😭
"dada!!" layla yells "where's santa now!" she runs into colby's office
"it's only dinner time pal he doesn't come until you're asleep" he lifts her up and puts her in his lap.
"can we go to sleep now?!" she asks
"it doesn't work like that kid, let's check where he is"
colby spins his chair towards the computer and googles the santa tracker
"what you doing?" layla asks, standing up on his lap
"we're tracking santa see!" he sits her back down on his lap
"he is in england!" colby says with excitement and in an english accent
"where's egg land?" layla giggles
"it's far away pal, it's night time over there but it's okay! we're gonna have so much fun and santa will be here before you know it!" he says as he gets out the chair and spins layla in the air
"let's go see what mommy's up to" colby puts her down and they run to the kitchen
"MOMMY!! SANTAS IN EGG LAND!!" layla screams
"oh my goodness he is?!" you say with excitement.
"hey baby" colby says, behind your shoulder and kisses your cheek
"eggland?" you ask him
"england. isn't she so cute" he smiles and you laugh
"watchu doin mama?!" layla asks.
"i'm making santa's cookies! do you want to help me?"
"yeah!!" layla screams
"tell dad to help you wash your hands" you reply
she holds her hands out and colby puts soap on them, he picks her up from under the arms and takes her to the sink to wash them. he then sets her on the counter so she can "help"
(the cookies are already done you just need to decorate them)
layla picks up a cookie and puts a metric ton of frosting on it. she picks up the sprinkles and shakes the bottle like 72 times
colby looks over "WOAH, you want some cookies with your sprinkles oh my"
layla laughs
you guys finish decorating the cookies and you start to clean up well.. you and colby start to clean up
you looked away for one second and layla helped herself to the cookies. she has frosting all over her face and hands
you look at her and laugh quietly. "want to prank dad?" you whisper and she nods.
you pick her up and carry her on your hip. you sneak behind colby while he's doing the dishes. you stand beside him. he knows you're standing there but he pretends that he doesn't
"get him!" you chant. layla leans towards colby and gives home a kiss on the cheek. leaving frosting on his face.
"HEY!" colby yells and layla giggles. "what are you doing!"
"GOT YOU!!" she yells
you put her down and wipe off her hands with a washcloth and colby finishes the dishes
"DADA WHERE IS SANTA NOW?!?" layla asks.
colby pulls out his phone and pretends to look at the santa tracker.
"HES IN THE U.S! WE HAVE TO GO TO BED SOON!!" (he says that so she can go to bed earlier)
"AHHHHHHHHH!!!" layla screams and runs towards her room, you and colby follow
"HEY NOT SO FAST YOU LITTLE STINKER!!" colby says as he picks her up and kisses her cheek repeatedly, layla giggles and kicks her feet
"we need to wash your face first silly! you can't go to bed with frosting everywhere !" colby says.
he hands her off to you and you give her a bath while colby cleans up the kitchen, you put her in christmas pjs and go back downstairs by the fireplace where colby's waiting
layla runs to colby with a book in her arms "watcha got there?" she hands colby the book and he smiles "you want me to read this to you?" "yeah!!" she nods
colby picks her up and sets her in his lap then wraps her arms around her so they can both see the book, you then sit next to them and cuddle into colby's arm
colby opens the book and reads the first line. "'twas the night before christmas and all through the house... not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse" he reads with enthusiasm
he reads the book to layla while she flips through the pages whenever she wants, she's probably not even listening
when he finishes the book you guys lay out cookies and milk for santa
"dada?" layla looks up at colby "where's santa now?" colby pretends to look up the santa tracker again "oh my gosh!" he says with excitement. "what!" "HES TWO STATES AWAY WE HAVE TO GO TO BED!!"
he yells as he picks her up and takes her to her room.
you and colby tuck her in and kiss her goodnight. surprisingly, she's not hyper anymore "goodnight layla" colby whispers as he flips the light switch "i love you" "i love you too dada!!" he closes the door
its only 8:30, to pass time you and colby decide to watch a christmas movie
you and colby cuddle on the couch and watch the full movie. when the movie is over colby gets out of the blanket you two are sharing to see if laylas asleep, luckily she is
colby gets all the santa presents from the closet and puts them under the tree while you stuff the stockings
colby finishes before you do so he sits down and eats a cookie "so this is what we have to do every year till she finds out"
"yep" you finish stuffing the last stocking, get up and sit on colby's lap "it'll be worth it tho" you say as he wraps his arm around your waist. "she's gonna be so happy i can't wait till tomorrow" you say and colby starts to tear up "why are you crying?!" you look at him and cup his cheek "i love her" he replies. "she loves you" you smile at him as your heart starts to melt.
"let's go to bed, someone is probably gonna wake us up at 5 in the morning" colby laughs and rubs his eyes
you two go upstairs to your shared bedroom and fall asleep immediately.
what do ya know! at 7:30 AM you wake up to layla jumping on your bed. "WAKE UP WAKE UP WAKE UP ITS CHRISTMAS!!" layla chants
she jumps in the gap between you and colby and lays down. colby hugs her "it's so early thooo" she escapes colby's arms and rolls over you to lay in your arms, you're definitely awake now.
colby wraps his arms around both of you. and pretends to snore "WAKE UP DAD" she screams and slithers out of your arms then runs out the room
colby nuzzles his head into your neck and kisses you. "merry christmas baby" he says in a raspy voice. "merry christmas" you turn around and wrap your arms around his neck, you suddenly hear a scream from downstairs "AHHHHH SANTA CAME"
you and colby get out of bed and walk downstairs together. you see layla trying to reach her stocking, colby grabs it and hands it to her, she sits down on the floor and you and colby watch as she takes everything out of it
you look over at colby and he's smiling so big at her. you kiss him on the cheek and he wraps his arm around your back then you rest your head on his shoulder as you watch layla open her presents
you guys spend the morning opening presents then cleaning up all the wrapping paper in the living room.
sorry i didn't post yesterday guys!! i was so busy and i ended up not liking the story so i restarted like three times then i got so frustrated that i just gave up 😭
also today was the last day of the countdown! i'm happy it's over but also kinda sad. i had fun writing a story every day 😭 anyways i hope you guys liked my stories. thank you so much for reading! i hope you guys have a merry christmas!! don't forget to go to bed early tonight bc santa's coming 🤭🤭
