*A week later*

A week in Thailand was like a dream. Valerio and I went diving, exploring and relaxing in the beautiful country. We ate in the most exotic places and met all kind of people. Would you believe me if I told you I walked between two mountain tops only on a rope bridge? No? Well, I did... on Valerio's back, but it still counts!

Throughout the trip, Valerio's mood improved drastically. We laughed a lot, and cuddled more. He did become more protective; never leaving me alone for a second and literally waiting for me outside ladies restroom. I would normally argue against his action, but two things stopped me. One, I think Valerio's sane mind needed it. Two, I felt safe with him around, still do.

I never wanted to leave, but when we drove through the Drago estate gates it felt better then ever. It was when I took my first steps on the parking lot towards home, that I truly understood the meaning; East or West, home is best.

Valerio and I enters the bright hallway with linked hands. The usual statues are in place, and the extravagant art are just as extravagant. Home is still home, even through all I've gone through.

The famiglia was waiting for us, smiling with anticipation. Of course, Joaquin is the first one to speak.

"Welcome to our humble home, honored ones. We have awaited your presents, and prepared what we hope is adequate enough for your taste" Joaquin coos as he bows low. Angelo slaps his back so he flinches upwards with a painful expression.

"What he means" Angelo corrects, "Is that Kajetan has prepared drinks in the livingroom, and we would like to hear about what you guys has done". The famiglia nods in confirmation.

Valerio takes a protective step in front of me while extending a possessive arm around me. "We will relax in my room first. We'll see when we have time to talk-"

"Oh I have so much to tell you guys!" I chirp while walking from behind Valerio. I could feel his glare in the back of my head, but I completely ignore it and walk directly to Kai. I love Kai, because he understands a girls mind. He knows what we girls want, and he plays it well.

We link elbows while leaning on our left hip, raising a sassy brow. Sending him my "watch me" look, we turn towards living room. "If you're going upstairs, could you take my luggage as well?" I ask, turning me head just enough to see a glimpse of him.

He looks the same, but the emotions in his eyes are priceless.

Kajetan and Angela are quick to join us as we begin walking, and the guys follows suite. Including a very wordless mobster boss, carrying the baggage containing the souvenirs.

"You were stalked?!" Angela gasps while covering her mouth. We are comfortable in front of the fireplace, all of us filling the couches, recliners, and chairs. Leaving no available seats.

"Yeah, and he tried to bribe me as well. Saying that if I wanted to live I should shut up and follow him" I continue and take a quick pause to drink my lemonade. The weather has gone hotter in a week.

"It was a kidnapping attempt. You should take it more serious! You're talking about it as the latest gossip" Kai growls. His usual feminine appearance not so feminine any longer.

"Well, it didn't go that far, and the fact that Valerio was running in the speed of light to save me doesn't really convince me that it was a kidnapping attempt" I conclude. I'm sitting between Valerio's legs, sharing apparently his recliner.
