"That's impossible," Hudson commented, frowning at the bird in my hand.

"I guess it is possible since it's in my hand," I snapped.

"But how?"

"Obviously because it fell in my vision," I explained. "It's weird how it transferred here though. It's never happened before."

Hudson smirked. "I guess my good luck charm came into play after all."

I narrowed my eyes suspiciously at him. "Come to think of it, you were all about me having that thing on me at all times. Is this why?"

"I knew it would help save my life," he explained. "I didn't know how. I just knew it would. And I knew you would help too."

"You're lucky I did then, huh?"

Hudson furrowed his eyebrows. "Why are you so snippy?"

"Hm, I don't know, Hudson," I wondered mockingly. "Maybe because you pretended to be dead when I was worried about you!"

Hudson chuckled. "Oh, come on. I had to."

"You didn't have to when I was checking up on you!" I accused.

"Okay, I did that on purpose," Hudson admitted. "But it was a joke."

"You don't joke about stuff like that, Hudson! I've thought I lost you once before and that was the worst thing I've ever been through. And I almost suffered through that again."

Hudson's grin slowly shrunk, and a frown took his place. "I'm sorry, Willow-"

"Sorry?" I repeated, my eyes watering. "How much can you apologize? You knew today was your death day! But you didn't even call me! You left me a stupid note saying 'goodbye'. That's all I got. On the day you were supposed to die!"

"I just didn't-" Hudson started, but I wasn't done.

"Do you know how worried and frantic I was, Hudson? I really thought you were going to die! Why didn't you just let me help you from the beginning? Or did you not want my help? Because-"

Hudson cut me off by covering my mouth with his hand. "Shut up for a moment, would you, Willow?"

I glared at him, trying to pull his hand away from my mouth. It didn't work. His grip was too strong.

"I have my reasons," he explained.

I rolled my eyes.

"The most important one being I didn't want you to be harmed because of me again," he informed me, his expression serious.

My look softened. I tried pulling his hand away from my mouth and this time he complied.

"I'd rather be harmed than have you die," I told him. "What's an injury in trade of a life?"

"You're safety is more important than mine," he responded.

"Not this time! You could have died! I'd much rather have something happen to me than you."

Hudson shook his head. "That's why I didn't want you to be there. I thought you'd do some stupid antic that would get yourself either seriously injured or killed to help me... which you did anyways."

I smiled sheepishly when I realized he was referring to how I had fallen off the building. "Well Matt was there to catch me."

Hudson scowled slightly and looked around. "Where did that guy go anyways?"

"To see if The Butterfly is still around," I responded.

"Oh. Why is he even here?"

"He's been helping me," I told Hudson, rolling my eyes.
