-Chapter 50, The Sweetest Contempt, by yeonnieong

PARK WOOJIN

The five gathered round on an empty field of grass, trees surrounding them, and awkward silence engulfing them as well, as fire flamed in front of them, lit by no other than Raeyeon herself, as if they were in a sort of campfire. Once in a while, the vampires couldn't help sneaking awkward, worried glances towards Raeyeon, who seemed almost insane after she realized what happened to her.

"Out of all the mystical creatures," Raeyeon spoke, earning the attention of the four male vampires. "I became a witch."

Woojin sighed. "You couldn't have swallowed a lot. Plus not all witches are bad."

"What was her name though?" Daniel suddenly asked. "Though I'm not much of a reader, while training my curse ability, they taught me loads of the witches' names and their types, powers, prophecies, legends, etc. I can still remember them."

"She calls herself Lady Rose, that's for sure." said Woojin, messing up his fringe. "Her real name was...agh she told me once before, I can't remember, it was pretty difficult. For all I know, it didn't sound Korean..."

Raeyeon tilted her head. "The witch told you her real name? Did you meet her before...perhaps?"

At this, Woojin silenced, realizing that he'd just spilled out something he neither purposely or forgetfully never told anyone of. That the witch, herself, was present in Jihoon's house back during blood moon; that she ordered him to take a drink of the human beside him, Ong Raeyeon. That it happened when Jihoon wasn't home. The night Raeyeon pointed a shattered glass, threatening to kill him who was about to drink her blood, but collapsed hard on the ground as if she'd give her life rather than having to kill him. The night he escaped the witch's orders and healing the girl the witch ordered him to kill. The night he ended teleported accidentally into the school halls, his consciousness taken after the witch's hypnotic curse warded off his soul.

That one crazy heck of a blood moon.

"So that happened." Jihoon said in a monotone.

Daniel looked side to side. "Huh? What happened?" he looked like he was about to fall asleep at the prolonged silence. "that's not fair! You could read his mind! Spill the beans, telepathic eyes."

Jihoon glanced over to Woojin, as if he was giving the mic towards him instead, sitting back.

Minutes–even hours, escalated as Woojin explained the series of mixed events that night he almost killed Raeyeon with his own bare fangs. The three other vampires were pretty much shocked, and Daniel almost convinced him that he wouldn't sleep again with his eyes almost as wide as a tennis ball.
