ONG RAEYEON

Blinding brightness invaded the black vision of hers, creeping up in tiny, dizzying spots. Her heavy eyelids struggled to squint open, a sharp pain shooting through her head when she succeeded. Raeyeon felt her cheeks graced by her clothed arm, as she realized she had oddly been dozing off on a desk, her head engulfed by her arms.

"Where..." she croaked out, looking side to side.

Around her was exactly no one. Her half-consciousness hadn't discerned her actual surrounding, but when she rubbed her stomach, looking down to her own costume, she almost choked on her own saliva. Worn on her body was her winter uniform, perfectly bleached and unscathed.

Didn't I just fall off a building?

The painful screech of the chair erupted the empty room when she stood up in the speed of lightning, scanning her body from head to toe, checking her skin, whether or not there were at least one scar left from the impact. Regaining her full conscience, the girl turned carefully in a perfect degree of 360, her mouth agape at what she was seeing.

A classroom.

"I-I'm...at school?" she barely whispered. "what?"

Hastened steps radiated from the distance, getting Raeyeon to shift her attention towards the classroom's door. Then at an instance, the poor door burst open, a familiar lass with a worried look plastered on her face, breathless. Raeyeon couldn't even utter a word when that girl yelled,

"I've been searching for you!" she wiped her imaginary sweat, scoffing. "How many times are you going to be late for P.E.? You haven't even change! 20 laps 'round the field towards your way, dude."

Raeyeon blinked. "S-Seonmi?"

"Yeah, let's go now."

Was Raeyeon actually sleeping in class? What happened to Woojin? And her dad?

Seonmi sounded way too casual to be lying, and neither did her surrounding support her at all. Then could it be that the scene she witnessed was a dream? Her hopes raising high that it was just another nightmare, a smile crept up her face in relief.

"Have you seen Woojin?" Raeyeon walked over towards her friend.

Seonmi threw Raeyeon's gym outfit towards her, scrunching her eyebrows in advance. "Kim Woojin? Didn't he graduate last year? What are you on about?" they walked through the school halls.

"No, no. Park. Park Woojin."

"Huh? Who?"

Raeyeon didn't respond for a while, but then forced a playful snicker. "Hey, don't play me like that. He's our classmate you dumbo." she said, but a lump caught her throat when Seonmi didn't budge, still confused. "Park Woojin. That guy who just entered school this year. Remember? A friend of Park Jihoon from class 2-A and Kang Daniel, from 3-C?"
