I turned around to find a fire ball coming towards me, I back flipped to the ground just as Dimtri comes flying toward me and tackles me stomach first onto the ground.

Rae was pinned to the ground covering her head and her eyes peeked up at me in full fledged hear.

“Rose, are you okay?” Dimitri said while I was groaning.

“No I think you just broke my spline,” I muttered turning onto my back. “Slamming me into a tree wasn’t enough, you had to tackle me face down onto the ground covered in sticks and shit too!?” I yell with a laugh, “GET OFF ME!”

He was laughing too and I saw Isabel cover her mouth and turn her back to us for a second. The only one not laughing was Rae. She was anything but laughing. Her terror was frozen on her face and she was even shaking.

“That…That was a fire ball!” she yelled pointing to where Damon was.

“Shit, shit, shit!” I murmured. “SO DAMN CLOSE! WHY! WHY DID THE FIREBALL COME THEN?! I COULDN’T SPIT OUT FOUR MORE LETTERS!?” I scream to the world and Rae stands up noticing how I wasn’t surprised and scared out of my mind.

I was about to walk over and hit my head in the side of that tree, feeling like one of those people who stand out in thunderstorms saying, “JUST KILL ME NOW!” and ready to be struck by lightning.

Dimitri looked over at Rae and he looked away, “Have fun, you need back up?”

Damon looked scared since I started screaming and he was hesitant to come over. “I’m sorry mommy,” Damon whispered and all the anger rolling around in rolled out of me.

I ran up to him and pushed some of the loose hairs out of my eyes, “It’s okay baby,” I caressed his face and he looks down at the ground. “I’m not mad at you, I’m mad at me. You’ve done nothing wrong.”

“’Nothing wrong’?” Rae said staring at him, “He just threw a fireball from his hand!”

I looked back and gave her a glare and she went on going crazy without all the comments. “Go with Daddy,” I looked up at Dimitri and I noticed how I liked how that rolled off the tongue. I actually liked it a lot. “He’ll walk you back to Uncle Christian.”

Dimitri looked down at me and gave me a smile, “Are you sure that you want to be left alone with her? I can stay and help explain things.”

I looked at him, “Do you want to?”

He was surprised that I asked, “I want what you want. I would love to stay but if you would think it would go easier explaining things without me here, then I understand.”

I place a shaking hand on his shoulder close to his neck, “I would love it if you stayed,” I looked back at Rae, “but I also think this is something that I have to handle by myself.”

He nodded not a look of disappointment in his eyes, just something along the lines of… Pride? Understanding? Could it be…?

When Dimitri picked up Damon and threw him in the air a couple times, catching him and picking him up by his toes, Rae started to pace and… Cry.

“W…… Wh - what was that!” Rae just barely crocked out.

I didn’t answer, because honestly what would I say? Nothing out of my mouth would make this easier for her, I wanted so badly to tell her, I realized that so I tried.
