Ming's pov:

The doorbell rung 25 minutes later.

P'pha went and opened it.

A woman who looked like she was in her mid forties came in with him.

I immediately recognised her.

P'Forth's mother.

I clutched onto P'Forth's shirt and scooted behind him.

She blinked.

"I thought you said he's 18." She turned to Beam.

"He is. He lived on the streets for 6 years so he wasn't able to get the food his body needs to grow." P'pha answered.

P'Forth patted my head gently.

She looked at me sadly.

"My name is Tila. I'm Forth's mom." She said gently.

I slowly nodded and loosened my grip on p'Forth's shirt.

I moved from behind him as well.

She smiled warmly at me.

We talked about different things. She told us stories from p'Forth was a kid as well. Some of them were really funny.

He was blushing deeply the whole time. P'Beam even snapped a picture of him saying that he doesn't know when he'll get to see that expression on him again.

They stayed over for lunch.

P'Forth's mom helped p'Pha cook. He tried to refuse but she kept insisting so he eventually gave in.

I couldn't help but feel envious of p'Forth.

His mom is so nice and warm. And from what i've heard, his dad is also just ass nice.

I'm really glad i got to be with mom and dad. If it weren't for them, i would have never- and probably still not know how a warm home feels like.

In a way i'm kind of thankful that my real parents abandoned me.

Even though it was really hard living on the streets, i felt free. I wasn't getting suffocated by the burden of their really high expectations and the need to meet those expectations every passing minute.

"Ming." I was pulled out of my thoughts when p'Forth called my name.

I looked at him.

"Khrab?" I smiled.

"What were you thinking about?" He asked.

"Nothing. Just some useless things." I answered.

He and p'Beam stared at me silently for a few seconds before nodding.

I'm glad they decided not to push.

I have no idea how i would explain my train of thoughts to them.

We ate lunch while talking about random things.

After we finished eating p'pha took out one of the cheesecakes which we ate as dessert.

"Wow Ming is already so good at this." P'Forth's mom smiled when she tasted the cheesecake.

"P'pha helped me with it. I'm still learning." I said sheepishly.

They chuckled.

They stayed over until 4 o'clock before deciding to leave.

"We'll come visit some other time." P'Beam smiled.
