Disturbed

It had been a few days since he returned home. Sunday meant going to his mum's farmhouse and meeting the family. His mum made sure of it. He was looking forward to seeing his nephew Bulut. It has been the longest since he last saw his nephew as well.

After greeting everyone, he sat at the table. His best friend Engin joined him. He spotted Menemen on the table. His thoughts went to when he prepared it for Nazli. Would she have eaten it? Liked it?

There was chaos once he was back just as he expected. He got the deal they wanted but his team did not finish the groundwork that had to be done before the contract kicked in. He immersed himself in work to run away from her thoughts, but it was of no use.

It was like he did not exist before her. Everything and anything reminded him of her which was very silly. He would be wondering her reaction every time he experienced something new. Did he like her?

Lost in thought, he served himself some breakfast and Mrs. Lehman was surprised to see her son eating some cheese, which he always despised.

'Ferit you don't seem to have any time for me these days.' She faked sadness.

'Annem work is keeping me busy. I'll stay with you today' He said, trying to pacify her. She agreed.

When his mother blackmailed him into spending some time with her, he did not expect to be attending an afternoon tea party with her. He avoided parties at any cost since he was a certain age. All everyone did was to try to patch him up with someone and he hates it.

He found a quiet corner of the room to hide. Ever since he came, all he heard was if he would meet someone's niece, daughter, sister, and he was exhausted. He needed to relax. He found a waiter serving some tea.

"OMG, tea" Mrs.Lehman chuckled as she saw her son standing drinking some tea. Her son was addicted to coffee.

"Ah!! Nazli... " He mentally cursed her. She gave him a lecture on how tea relaxes the mind better than coffee.

"Did something happen while you were away? You don't seem to be the same person you were" Mrs.Lehman took notice of the subtle differences ever since he came back.

"Anne... Why are we here?" He asked her annoyedly.

"Is it a crime to spend some time with you?" She asked him.

"We could have done that at home, or I could've taken you for dinner as well" Ferit argued.

"I want you to find someone. It's about time." His mum complained.

"Please don't start again Anne. I did say I'll marry once I find the right one" He tried to pacify her.

"I think I've given you enough time. It's time I handled it myself" She walked away.

Though he was expected to take over his father's business he surprised everyone by opening his own financial consulting firm. He was always interested in finance and his father was kind enough to let him do what he wanted. Work kept him busy most of the time and he could never find someone, who would be okay with his crazy schedule.

He knew he was in trouble and before his mother added any more misery, he had to leave. He was driving back home when his sister called. His nephew wanted to play with him as they have not spent much time together lately. He drove to her place. Bulut might distract him.

Zeynep fell in love with Demir when they were working together on a project and got married. Their happy family makes him believe in love though he was never successful to experience it himself.

"How was the party?" His sister asked him as he walked in.

"You knew about it??" He was disappointed that she was aware of the trap and yet has not informed him.

"Anne is obsessed with finding a daughter-in-law" Zeynep laughed.

"Where's Bulut?" He asked to escape from further conversation.

"Dayi" Bulut came running to him.

He played some games with his nephew. It was dinner time, so he sat next to Bulut as Zeynep asked him to join them.

"How was your trip to London?" Zeynep asked him casually.

"We already spoke about it in the morning." He informed her.

"Not work I mean you were there for more than 3 weeks. Did you meet Deniz?" She asked him.

"He was away mostly but I did meet him." He focused on eating.

"You met Deniz dayi... Did you also meet Nazli?" Bulut asked him excitedly.

"Nazli... How do you know her?" He was surprised that Bulut was asking about her.

"Last summer when we went for holidays, Deniz got her to babysit Bulut as we went to a concert. He had so much fun with her. He wouldn't leave her alone, so we got her to be our tour guide whenever she was free." Zeynep filled him in on details of how they met Nazli.

"It was such fun... I don't think we would have explored so much otherwise..." Demir chipped in.

"Yea she's really good with tours..." He smiled and then bit his lips as he saw two shocked faces staring at him.

"You met her??" Zeynep almost screamed.

"Thanks to Deniz" He debated whether to tell them about his stay as he was sure they would tease him.

"Ah... I think something is definitely brewing between them... Deniz got all of us to meet her." Zeynep seemed deep in thought.

He drove back home and pondered on what Zeynep said. It bothered him to picture Deniz and Nazli together. He felt so at ease with Nazli, which he never experienced with anyone else. Lately she consumed all his thoughts. She caught him off guard when she kissed him that night. He thought of texting her after he moved out, but it felt like she wanted to avoid him. She refused to join Deniz and him for dinner though Deniz pestered her. She did come to the airport though, to see him. That look on her face, it haunted him every night ever since.

He debated a few times whether to call her or not. In the end he thought it was futile as the distance between them was difficult to bridge.

"Is everything alright?" Engin walked into his cabin one day as he was busy at work.

"Yeah, just busy with this new project..." He avoided eye contact and was busy typing.

"We've been together since we were in diapers. Something is eating you away." Engin settled in the chair.

"Fine... I met a girl when I was in London. I can't erase her from my mind no matter how much I try." He sighed.

"Is this someone kind of joke?" Engin seemed to be in shock.

"I wish it was..." He got back to work.

"What are you going to do?" Engin realised that it was the truth.

"Honestly, nothing... we're in 2 different countries. I don't know if she feels the same as me." He stated everything that came to his mind.

"Did you not talk to her since you came back?" Engin tried to analyse the situation. Ferit denied

"Ferit I've known you for years. I've never seen you think about someone so much especially after... You better act." Engin warned him.

Ferit opened his mobile to text her when he got notification that Deniz sent him a few pictures. It was some event and immediately his eyes spotted her among the crowd. That smile can light up even a dark room.
